Lovely welcoming stay - Gill and Martin made the children feel very welcome. Accommodating of vegans and veggies! Family room was just right for our needs. Lots of advice for having a car free stay and having the flexibility to bring food back in the evening made life easier. Would definitely return - was great.

Excellent, family run hotel. Lovely building with lots of character. Gill & Martin were great hosts, friendly, helpful and informative. A highlight of our stay were the wonderful cooked breakfasts served in the conservatory. Suitable for families as well as couples.

On arrival at the Polraen Country House Hotel we received a very warm welcome from Gill & Martin. We stayed in the Willow Garden Room for our 2night stay. The room was a very nice & comfortable room. Breakfast was excellent with a varied choice. The scrambled eggs were delicious. Gill was very informative about the bus & train times and even provided us with timetables for both. The bus to Looe stops right outside the hotel and the train station is a few hundred yards up the road. Gill also recommended places of interest to visit in Looe & Polperro. The hotel is situated just outside Looe so is in quite a peaceful location. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend it.

It was marvelously quiet and peaceful, run by a couple in the business for nearly 25 years. Delicious breakfasts each morning and stimulating conversation, if so desired. Book quickly since there are rumblings that they are soon to exit their business!

Yes, choose this one. Quiet, in the woods, beautiful, comfy, delicious, and the best hosts you could ever ask for: fun, kind, informative, lively, interested in their guests and in the world. The trail through the bluebells was breathtaking. Wish we lived closer so we could come often!

Could not fault the welcome and service from Gill and Martin. The room was very comfortable, spotlessly clean, with an excellent sized shower, making it very comfortable for me. Beds are extremely comfortable . Beautiful breakfast served with lovely attention to guests from Gill. She was informative regarding places of interest. Bus 73A between Looe and Liskeard stops right outside of the hotel. Attention and concern for my wife from Gill were very impressive.

We stayed in April for our third visit. Gill and a Martin are the prefect hosts. Good facilities and comfortable rooms. We will be booking again next year. Ideally located for Looe and Polperro. Exmoor is a short drive away. The bus can be flagged down outside if you want to take the bus into Looe or Polperro or Liskeard. Thoroughly recommended.

We have stayed here a few times and always receive excellent service. Gill and Martin are brilliant hosts. Nothing is too much trouble.The choice of breakfast is perfect. Polraen house is a great starting point for visiting Cornwall. We will be returning in the future.

Lovely small country house hotel with charming hosts providing a warm welcome and grea service. Spotlessly clean and superb breakfast. Located close to Looe with excellent bus and rail service to Looe and other parts of Cornwall. Book direct for best deal. Visit the Sardine Factory for great food while there.
