Hotels near Dublin City Council, Dublin

I was impresssed by the friendly welcome I was given at reception. Although I knew I couldn't book in till 2pm, I went early in the hope of them looking after my case. Not only do they do this for no extra charge but I was allowed into my room at 11.30am as it had been vacated. The hotel is in an excellent location for sightseeing as Christchurch and St Patrick's Cathedral are within 5 mins' walk and Dublin Castle and the Esther Beatty exhibition, which is not to be missed, is just round the corner. The room facilities were excellent with air conditioning unit, fridge, safe, coffee and tea making equipment, an iron and hairdryer and of course constant hot water for a shower. Downstairs there was a restaurant and bar available with music in the evening, which stopped at a reasonable time. Breakfast was also served in the morning, simple but enough. It was well worth the price charged simply because of its location.

I think this will be a nice stay once their remodel is done, but wait until then. When booked initially, the reservation was for the Hard Rock Hotel. About a week and a half before I arrived, NYX acquired the building. We received no notification about this from either business. The hotel was slightly outdated and undergoing the beginnings of redecoration. The staff seemed to either be hired by NYX and unfamiliar with the hotel or previous employees who were unfamiliar with the new management’s policies. For example, the manual chain lock on my door had been disabled in both of our rooms and the staff at the desk didn’t seem to understand how it had happened. They did move me to a room with a working manual lock immediately, but didn’t seem to understand why I felt the need for one as a single woman in the room and assured me that the staff would respect my privacy. The person in the other room in our booking also had his disabled but didn’t want to bother moving. The next day, housekeeping barged into his room without waiting for an answer to her knock. The person inside was just finishing dressing. Other than that, it’s just little things that haven’t yet been worked out in the management change. For example their card scanners in the rooms and elevators seem to be new and still finicky, and the person at reception hadn’t read the laundry policy on the NYX laundry slips in the rooms. The slips specified it would be back by 6pm if picked up by 8am, but she said it might be the next day. She also had me bring the laundry down to the reception desk when the slip said it would be picked up. The staff was actually really great and when I pointed it out I did get same day laundry; it seemed like a new management miscommunication. Overall, I’d recommend staying here after they’ve had a chance to settle and remodel. They were already starting to take down the Hard Rock decorations and I suspect they will also redo the older and brightly colored carpets and walls. Since we didn’t receive any notifications about the new management and redecorating, I’m not sure there will be one about that either.

1) The location is excellent, 5 minutes walk to the shopping area, dining area, about 10 minutes to graphton street , next to the church, like a small park. 2) Very hygienic, good service, new facilities, spacious rooms. 3) Breakfast is typical of Ireland, very rich, the restaurant is spacious and bright. Close to the price, recommended to live!

Hotel itself is lovely, great location for shopping and nightlife. We booked three rooms, one had a considerable amount of dust on windowsill, Other than that very clean. The girl on reception at checkout needs to improve her service skill . Very dismissive and did not want to be disturbed. Overall staff were lovely especially the Irish gentleman that served us in bar. The acoustic guitar session was a bonus. .

A very nice hostel for Backpackers or people looking for a night's accommodation. It's not a doss house like the other hostel close by. The facilities are very good , rooms very clean and the staff very courteous and helpful. I have no hesitation staying here again when in Dublin!

This place is a zoo. Lots of noise and the bar downstairs reminded me of a college bar. My primary problem with this place is it is like a maze and if you stay in a dorm your gender’s bathroom may be on another floor which is a pain if you have to go in the middle of the night. The bathrooms were not extremely clean but the bathroom at basement level for the bar/restaurant had standing water on the floor. This place is inexpensive which makes it all tolerable but I’m glad I only stayed here one night.

Point A Hotel on Parnell Street in Dublin offers clean and well-maintained rooms, providing a comfortable stay. However, the surrounding area leaves something to be desired, lacking in appeal and amenities. Ideal for those prioritising cleanliness and convenience over location charm.

This hotel is a perfect location in Dublin City, close to St Stephens Green and the Lucas (Trams) to get around, the triple room I had was huge and very clean, old fashioned style but absolutely fine The noise from the nightclub/bar downstairs is loud and goes on til 2:30 so if ur a light sleeper it may not suit but I managed to get to sleep no problem anyway Would book again for definite, and there’s a bus to the airport (Dublin express) at the top of the road which gets you there in 30 mins and €10 return, it’s on hatch street Thank you for a lovely stay A happy customer
