My Signature Suite was a treasure box delight, suspended over the Oregon surf. Greeted with a warm "Welcome back!" The suite was spotless with a dreamy bed worthy of my princess and the pea sensibility. Sleeping to the sound of the surf is more effective than a year of therapy. Should you tire of watching whales from your deck, one of the best whale watching perches on the coast is less than a quarter of a mile south.

We came for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary and NEVER left the entire time we were there. Actually, my husband left once to go to the store for snacks. The view from the room took our breath away and left us completely mesmerized most of the weekend, never turned on the TV, barely on our phones. We walked the beautiful grounds and spent a lot of time sitting on the deck and taking full advantage of the private soaking tub. The weather was beautiful, but chilly so the sensation of being in the hot bath with the cold, crisp wind was another experience altogether. We watched fishing boats out on the sea, and saw a few whales going by. The cute pair of seals hanging around the cove was another treat. I kept thinking how lucky we were to experience this place and the cove. Since we never really left, we had dinner both nights at the inn. That was an experience we’ll never forget. Knowing the kitchen was staffed with maybe 4 people and a server that night made us feel as if we were having a private dining experience. The food was impeccable. My husband is the gourmet so watching him enjoy our meals was another highlight for me. We like to visit local galleries whenever we travel so the beautiful art work hanging on the walls and the vintage hutch, which I believe is an Asian apothecary cabinet(?), was yet again, another delight. The spirit and energy at this place is magical. I think if I was sick I’d come here for my treatment and be healed.

Unfortunately, the inn is not what it once was. My husband and I have been staying here on and off for 12-15 years. Doubtful that we will return. Maintenance is badly needed in the rooms, on the decks and outside the building. Amenities are subpar. In addition to no longer offering breakfast, which once was delightful, the rooms no longer have binoculars, a pen or a notepad. The throw on the couch is pitiful. Toilet paper and tissues are beyond poor quality. Housekeeping is terrible - the bed was just thrown together after our first night. Glasses and cups were not washed or replaced. Reception staff is friendly but not very helpful. It's sad because Whale Cove Inn was once a world-class inn in every respect. No longer. It's not a good value despite the beautiful site and rooms that were once so comfortable and now are sadly lacking. It is certainly not worth $500+ per night. Despite the decline of the inn, Restaurant Beck remains fabulous.

This is not a 4-Star hotel! The view was wonderful, great bathroom , robes and slippers and the jacuzzi tub on the deck was great. Maintenance is greatly needed, the door was hard to open, the toilet paper holder was loose and the toilet paper itself was sand paper, the couch extremely uncomfortable, the stuffed chair was dirty and well worn (not in a good way) and the ceiling on the deck is falling apart. The office staff was consistently sitting in the lounge on her phone. Outside needs maintenance as well, lights were out, railing falling off, cracks in steps. Restaurant Beck was a wonderful experience.

We had an absolutely fantastic room with a fabulous view of the cove below the inn, The room was large with a very spacious two sink bathroom and plenty of seating. The room and the view were superlative but unfortunately the service was lacking. No breakfast is served so one has to find food elsewhere. The front desk personnel were pleasant enough but not particularly helpful.

Whale cove inn continues to be our great destination on the coast. We love the premium suite. Unfortunately the breakfast has been suspended due to labor shortage when we were there. Hopefully this is temporary and they are giving a credit in lieu of breakfast. Location is great and suite is great. If you have only 2 people the second and third bedrooms are locked. They are arable at extra cost for larger parties. The view remains spectacular although we did not see any whales this visit because orcas were sighted and the usual whale population moved farther off shore for safety. Highly Recomended despite the breakfast suspention.I

The price/value ratio for this facility is pretty low. One should expect much better service and accommodation for $500+ per night lodging. Maintenance on the property is severely lacking. Our door was very difficult to open; the lock wouldn't work. A light fixture on the outside deck was dripping water and about to fall off. Not going back...

We had the same experience as James W. (see his review below). we rented the premiere suite and found two of the three doors to bedrooms locked. The person at the front desk was argumentative, and presumptive. I was prepared to kick those locked doors down. My wife persuaded the desk clerk to unlock them. At the rates that we were paying we should have been accomodated. These people ovbiously don't know the first thing about hospitality. Never coming back, and telling all my friends.

Beautiful stunning view, very comfortable rooms, absolutely incredible (pricey FYI) restaurant, and oddly managers with attitudes. There was an issue with our booking and the manager refused to take any responsibility for their website, or booking mixup. A simple "sorry" would go a long way, I didn't need anything other than that, but I was repeatedly told I did it wrong. Yet my card was charged and my booking was confirmed by email with no issue immediately. Based on other reviews here noting the poor customer service attitude, I'm not surprised. It's the only stain on an otherwise lovely stay. Restaurant experience was absolutely wonderful - i don't think you'll find a higher class experience for 40 miles in either direction. If you've got the budget - i highly suggest the multiple course tasting with the wine pairing. Desk is closed after 7pm, so you're on your own. There's no breakfast - you must drive into Depoe Bay for something which is close, but it'd be great if they had their breakfast option return. As long as you don't have any issues that need resolving by the management, then it's a great place.
