Hilton Colombo Hotel

A dream come true! Hilton quality at the price of a 2-star hotel in Europe. Includes a fantastic gym, sauna, and jacuzzi. The buffet was wonderful, and the facilities and laundry prices were 10/10.

I needed to blow dry my hair after washing it in the morning, but the hairdryer plug didn't fit the outlet. I reported it to the front desk, and they said they'd send an engineer. After a long wait, no one showed up. I happened to hear a cleaning staff member in the hallway, and they took a look and said they'd get an adapter. It's truly speechless; it's the first time I've encountered a hotel where I needed to use an adapter for their own hairdryer. Once the adapter arrived, the hairdryer still didn't work, so they had to replace it. Three hours later, the engineer finally showed up to 'assist'! The pool also requires crossing a road to get to, and the shower room cleanliness was just so-so. This really doesn't live up to the five-star brand and high price point.

Half of the hotel has been renovated, while some floors haven't. The rooms vary significantly, and the pictures mostly showcase the newly renovated ones. The hotel practices discrimination; if they perceive you as easygoing, they'll assign you an old room first. If you complain, then they'll switch your room.

The hotel environment was excellent, and the breakfast was plentiful. Right across the street, next door, there's a place that serves crabs. I had a reservation, but I missed it because I went to the market.

The room was very clean, and it was convenient to find places to eat near the hotel. Always a great experience!
