Let me start by thanking the people there who were extremely welcoming, happy to help at any time and masters in anticipating your needs before even asking for it. There is a big diversity of activities that you can easily do besides chillin at the beach 🏝: water sport (@ADAM, talk to him ;-) he will teach you things you did not know) - DIVING (@Ashref, so knowledgeable and patient) - snorkling - Tennis ( @Barbara, a world renowned champion and an excellent instructor) - Art ( resin, painting…) - yoga - spa (@Evangeline, she was so perfect .. explaining the Treatment steps and meeting your healing expectation), GYM (@Joevan) and so on … Then, the food is whole story of success .. my god these chefs !! 👏🏼 BRAVO to all of them.. I tried reethi breakfast, tapasake, earth restaurent twice for its Tuna tartare (non forgettable taste), Rah bar lunch (the spaghetti .. thank you my waiter for recommending it it was delicious ) .. anyway .. just go there hungry 🤤 Last but not least, that BAND 🥰😍🥰😍👏🏼👏🏼, That Madonna on stage (Loulou), she is FIRE 🔥.. This was amazing place, even despite coming in October during rainy season. Service was exceptional from the begging- person awaiting us on the airport, speed boat transfer late evening, with nice welcome and service (water/towels/wifi) We arrived late evening, so dinner packages were ready in the room. All Incl package was nice however we missed some food in between breakf-lunch and dinner. Issue is wifi which was not working properly/everywhere. Normally i think its ok as we do not need internet on such vacations, but as we needed to work one day it was hard. Again anyways. Great service. Hospitality of staff in restaurant and bar too. Also reception who gave us a chance of later checkout. It was very convenient as we travelled with 2yrs old toddler. Room was spacious, kept clean every day properly + water bottles delivered daily. Good snorkling trips for free provided daily.

Ma Dai did not look at the sea when he returned. Walu Island is a newly opened island, 45 minutes from the airport by speedboat. The island’s food, drink and fun are all-inclusive. There are a wealth of activities, including sunset cruises, sunset fishing, snorkeling twice a day in the morning and afternoon, various non-motorized water activities such as kayaking, and other paid motorized water activities, but these are free Is enough for you to play! Let’s talk about the room types. There are sand houses, pool sand houses, water houses, and pool water houses. I can guarantee that you will be shocked when you enter the house, because it's so ~ great~! The room is large, the facilities are good, and the waiter cleans it very cleanly. The mini bar is replenished twice a day. There are various snacks, chocolates, coffee, tea, and beverages. See the photos for details. It also comes with sunscreen and mosquito-resistant lotion. Finally, let me talk about what I want to eat. The main restaurant has different patterns every day, so you won’t get tired of it every day in the main restaurant. Besides, there are seafood restaurants, Madai restaurant and barbecue restaurant. Every day I go to the main pool bar to drink juice and sunbathe. It's so comfortable! All of this is free! ! !

The hotel is 45 minutes from the airport speedboat. There is no seaplane and there is a Chinese reception. The person in charge is very handsome, very responsible, the room is very good, clean and hygienic. Each room is equipped with a basin that can be used for punching. Preventing the sand from being brought into the room is very intimate and very user-friendly. I have two children in two rooms, and the extra children can have an extra bed. The hotel's service staff are very good, the drinking water supply is sufficient, and a bottle of red wine is also delivered. During the family's birthday, a small birthday cake is also delivered, which is great! The hotel water house is not the kind that I imagined to stick out from the beach. It doesn't feel as romantic as that. But overall is still very satisfied!

We have been regulars to the Maldives for over 12 years. We always stayed at a beautiful laid back island called Rihiveli which is currently undergoing renovation. In search for another island with a similar atmosphere, we came across Makunundu Island. After reading lots of reviews, I gathered that there were some bungalows with hardly any privacy and no sandy beach in front or very clumsy beach access. When making the booking directly with Makunundu, I specifically asked for a bungalow with easy beach access which was ”well noted”. However, when we arrived we were given possibly the worst bungalow on the island. Unless you wanted to climb over a tree trunk and sharp rocks, a blue pipe and some discarded sand bags, you had no direct access to the sea from your property. The only option was to cross over your neighbours properties to make it into the water. The sun beds were cramped into a shaded area with no space to move them anywhere else if you wanted to sunbathe. My husband went back to the reception and asked for a different bungalow, but the island was fully booked and no alternative could be offered until ”maybe tomorrow”. We tried to find sun beds to spend the afternoon but the handful of them in the common area were all occupied. We tried to get our free snorkelling equipment but no sizes were available for me: ”maybe tomorrow”. We returned back to reception to speak to the GM and also mentioned that we specifically ask for a certain type of bungalow and were told: ”We do not entertain requests from first timers. When you come back as a repeat guest, we will give you what you ask for”.... This was quite a harsh statement and makes you not want to come back to be honest. The next morning, we were prepared to leave the island and move to a neighbouring resort if no other option had become available, but luckily we were moved to a new place. The new location was paradise, we had privacy, direct beach access, a beautiful view. It made all the difference and we were the happiest people for the remainder of the holidays. The bungalow itself was also bigger and although not upgraded yet, it was sparkling clean and very comfortable. Apart from the unfortunate room allocation, everything else was perfect. Food was delicious with tons of choices, staff always eager to help and make your stay better (special thanks to Ismail in the restaurant and Mohammed from the housekeeping team). The island itself is tiny but beautiful and the house reef stunning. Mosquitos are an issue so bring along your repellent. Fumigation happens regularly but there are still plenty of them around. After a very rough and disappointing start, we had a wonderful holiday on the island and will definitely come back again if a bungalow in a nice location is available and guaranteed. The island is small with one bar & a beach bar, one restaurant, small spa, small gym, pool table & table tennis. We stayed in one of the bungalows but wouldn’t describe them at all as deluxe as they are very tired so much so that the manager even agreed and it also does depend on the location of your bungalow as there was a lot of swapping going on but this is not always possible. The food was good but we did go for dinner & tea at the beginning of the service to ensure that it was hot and fresh. We chose this island as we wanted small and the easy to see sea life. This was our first visit to the Maldives and we were really looking forward to the Maldives experience and the holiday of a lifetime but unfortunately this was spoilt as Blue Bay Travel sent 2 emails regarding building work on the island, one just a week before we were due to go, they told us that nobody had complained and that it wouldn’t affect our holiday. The island was taken over by new management in June and we have since found out from other guests that they were shown the plans for the island which are major changes for the future. We have since found out that an inspection was carried out and this work was on the report which clearly means that people where aware and we feel that the island should have shut for a couple of weeks to do a new dive centre and a new jetty all at the same time. The email we received from Blue Bay Travel clearly said that the work was on the 42 year old jetty and the work was preventative maintenance work but this was total incorrect as the work was building a new jetty!

From start to finish our experience at the Oblu Sangeli was incredible. It was our first time visiting the Maldives and it was everything we could have wished for and more. We stayed in the water villa and it did not disappoint. The room was beautiful and the access to the lagoon was amazing. It was great for snorkelling and had plenty of corals where we saw baby sharks, manta rays and lots of colourful fish! We embarked on the turtle snorkelling trip and saw many turtles which was wonderful! The buffet was great and we appreciated that they changed the dishes every day so you had a variety to choose from. A huge thanks to Chef Rahul who not only made excellent Indian food for us, but also became a good friend and was always so kind to us. Another big thanks to the waiter, Yathrib, who was so friendly and attentive to us and gave excellent service. This really made our experience even better. We also really enjoyed the fine dining experiences included in the Serenity plan. Both restaurants (just grill & just wok) served delicious food and a nice view of the sunset. A highlight for us was the pool as it was right next to the ocean and the view was incredible. We loved the slide leading into the ocean, that was a vey unique touch for the hotel and lots of fun at the pool party too and recommend you throw a pool party a couple times a week as it was great! We really enjoyed the live entertainment in the evenings and especially loved listening to Dee & Jay singing so beautifully! A highlight for us was definitely the excellent service from the staff. From the first day we could see that they were genuinely nice people and took pride in their job. A special shout out to the Sangs bar staff who were always kind and friendly to us. They made our experience better by just being genuinely nice people and their service was excellent! A big thanks to Pradeep and Lahiru who lead the team and always greeted us with a smile and made us feel at home. A huge thanks to Ibrahim and Madheeh who made us laugh everyday and gave brilliant service. You made our experience even better by just meeting you all. We will definitely return to the hotel in the future as it was the best holiday we've ever had! The Maldives is really paradise on earth! Don't think twice about booking to stay at this hotel because it's perfect!

Stayed two nights (approximately 2.3w RMB) and concluded that it is a low cost hotel. A. The island is not big. There are two restaurants, one Japanese and one chowder. The ingredients are fresh and expensive (based on the per capita consumption of domestic restaurants, the unit is changed from RMB to US dollars, which is the price of his home), but the taste is really average and the whole is salty. There are not many varieties of dishes. B. Transportation on the island: The airport can be reached by speedboat in 35 minutes, roundtrip USD 357 / person, reaching the price of other long distance hotels by water. Annoyingly, when the first day arrived, the hotel actually said that our ticket was shared and we had to wait for the 4 passengers who accompanied us (their flight is expected to arrive in 1.5 hours). After serious negotiations over the phone, he finally arranged to go directly to the island. If you are not fluent in English, you can only be dumb. C. The snorkeling environment is average, especially in the snorkelling area. Many corals are bleached. The snorkeling area is also very small. Even if it enters the live coral area, there are not too many species of fish. It can be regarded as Samsung (Sand House) or Four Star (Water House) snorkeling. Been to the best snorkeling in Ihulu Island. D. For hotels without a reception desk, everything is handled by the butler. The steward is Chinese who speaks Chinese and the service is not one-on-one. Another Chinese couple was also hosted by the housekeeper. The service attitude is very good, although some things will be forgotten, it is probably too busy, there is no big problem in this regard. I still prefer the way to find the front desk. E. The room is really nice, the area is large enough, and the pool bathtub is available. But this is probably the only strong point of this hotel. F. The quality of all service staff is very good. Polite and professional. Summary: Suitable for those who care about the room type, have no high requirements for snorkeling, are relatively wealthy and do not care about the cost-effective tourists. The hotel itself is not bad, the price is too high. . . For tourists who have been to the Maldives many times, this one is really not worth it. I really have more money and burned my head. This is a big insight after my trip.
