Outstanding
JJosephineThe lodge is 3km outside of town and thus has a quiet setting away from the dust and traffic of San Pedro. The staff was exceptional. They gave us helpful trips for sightseeing, helped us to order a taxi when we didn’t feel like driving to town, and were always so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is very good and there is 24h free (and very good) coffee. On top of that, the pool is super refreshing, clean and with plenty of chairs and even a fridge with cold drinks (which you have to pay for of course but the prices are super fair). Bedroom and bathroom was exceptional as well. We loved our stay at Lodge Quelana!
GGuest UserPros: -Spacious room that was impeccably clean. -Fridge in room -Friendly staff -No AC not necessary as cool during the day and sufficiently warm (with blanket provided) at night. Of note, we were there during the month of March. Cons: -Wi-fi in the reception area but no Wi-Fi in the room -Hot water was spotty. If you ran the shower long enough, you would usually get hot water...but one hates to waste water, especially in the desert. -Breakfast was lackluster and did not change from day to day (rolls, jam, butter, cereal, powdered milk, ham, cheese, one fruit). One day they ran out of food. Although, it seems that breakfasts at hotels in San Pedro are generally not great. Other: -Staff don't speak much English but if you know a little Spanish, you will be fine. -Staff very nice but reception was not always staffed and it could be a nuisance to track someone down. -Parking is outside during the day. At night, they recommend bringing the car inside the compound given the dust at night. If staff was not around, it was a pain to find someone to unlock the parking area to bring the car in/out. -There is a small pool but we only used it once for about 10 minutes as whatever chemicals they use to treat the water caused the eyes to burn. -No hairdryer or Kleenex in the room. If you anticipate needing either, bring your own. -Slightly out outside of town. Not an issue for us as we had a car. Giving it 3 stars due to the hot water issue, no wi-fi in room, and difficulty tracking down staff at times. If none of these elements are important to you, then you will be happy here.
MMulinsenrongThe service of this hotel is very good, especially the team responsible for tourism, who are very careful and thoughtful in arranging travel plans for you so that you can spend a good time here. Because I was short of time, they also made a special private plan for me to satisfy me without any regrets. Due to their little work mistakes, the tourism department also made up a lot of activities for me, so that I can always spend every moment here happily. The meals here are delicious and reasonably priced. The laundry service is very convenient and efficient. The clothes taken in the afternoon were returned in the evening. In short, everything will make you feel comfortable.
LLeona RFantastic hotel - lovely rooms (we had the Small Double and it was more than fine for the two of us) and all areas beautifully done.
The staff were so helpful and friendly, especially Raul, whose recommendations and advice was invaluable.
Only slight drawback was not having an on-site restaurant but there are so many good places within 5 minutes walk that it really doesn’t matter (again, really good recommendations made!)
Right in the centre of San Pedro (actually behind the church) but felt very safe and secure, and literally a couple of minutes from the shops, market, restaurants and excursion agents.
Breakfast was fine - eggs an option to the buffet; fresh OJ on request and access to coffee etc whenever needed. Towels available for hire for the excursions that involve swimming.
We stayed for 3 lovely days and would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you for looking after us so well.
AAnonymous UserThe service and location are great. The reception is very friendly and try their best to address our concerns/ queries. The room is basic but comfortable enough. Heating pads kept us warm during the night although the gas heater is on from 7 to 10pm only.
WWin BkkThe check in was smooth. I as a non-Chilean didn't need to pay the extra taxes. It's 1.5km from centro, but that's not a big problem. I walked back and forth to centro, and I felt safe even at late night.
The room was ok. The bunk bed was sturdy. There were 3 living areas: indoor, roofed outdoor, and rooftop.
Rey Lagarto has the typical international hostel vibes and services. The major room for improvement was the wifi, which was slow and unstable. I'm not sure if this was about the geography of Atacama.
KKJI have a very comfortable rest. If you have something to hear next time, it is one of the accommodations you want to stay again. I recommend it. Thank you.
AAFLPros:
-Nice pool area
-Comfy bed and pillows
-Rainshower with great water pressure
-Good WiFi in the room
-Within walking distance of the main street (15 min)
-Yoga and other activities included
-Relaxing and peaceful atmosphere (except when they do barbecue/pool party on Saturdays)
Cons:
-Lack of air con/ceiling fan in the room
-More attention to detail needed (e.g: terrace bench cracked and terrace chairs/table quite tired)
-Amenities (soap, etc) could be better
-No place to put the suitcases other than the floor, and very little space for clothes
-Lack of TV could be a con for some
-Breakfast buffet could be more varied and of better quality
Overall a good stay!
AamatravelcharacterI recently stayed at the Ibis Hotel and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. From the moment I arrived, the friendly and efficient staff made me feel welcome. Check-in was seamless, and they did me earlier check in.
The breakfast buffet was pretty good, offering a variety of breakfast options like omelette, sandwiches, yoghurt with granola, sweets . The hotel's location was convenient, close to public transport to go to San Pedro de Atacama and lots of Peruvian/Bolivian restaurants.
Overall, the Ibis Hotel provided excellent service, comfort, and convenience. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a pleasant stay.
GGuest UserThe hotel covers a large area, but the road in Atacama is full of gravel, and this hotel is no exception. The hotel does not have a lobby boy. For those who drag the suitcase, the large area is a disaster, and the wheels of the suitcase are laborious and laborious. The family room has 5 beds, but it offers accommodation for 2 people, plus $40 for one person. Breakfast is provided, but it is later than our needs. Breakfast is required in advance and additional purchases are required. Overall average.
