Excellent location, quiet and yet a short walk from everything: bars, restaurants and massage shops surround the hotel and the night market, Saturday market, clock tower and bus station are all very near. The breakfast buffet was decent for a hotel in this price range. The hotel itself is like stepping back in time. It would have been very classy 35 years ago, but now the elegance has aged. The control panel next to the bed no longer turns on music and you have to work out what the other controls do. (e.g. the switch marked ”TV” operates the bedside light.) Rooms are large with a decent bathroom with a proper bath. I stayed there twice, in a Superior room (the lowest level) and then a Deluxe. While the Deluxe had a few tiny improvements in fittings, the main advantage was having a decent number of power points. The Superior had no spare power points whatsoever in the bedroom, just one in the bathroom. Fortunately, the maid was able to give me a power board. (She didn't know much English, so I showed her a picture of one on my phone and she raced off and got one.) Then I was able to plug in everything via the socket the TV uses. The pool is strange, cold and stark, surrounded by concrete walls and situated on the ground floor. It's not even obvious how to get to it! There's one entrance through the restaurant and another from the second floor down a big flight of stairs. The only real negative is the wifi. It's atrocious and extremely weird. I had multiple devices connect to the same access point, yet get directed by DHCP to different routers! My phone always connected to one that worked (slowly), but my other devices would mostly get connected to one that didn't do anything. Of course, the front desk staff had no clue what was going on. Broadband on your phone in Thailand is cheap (150 baht/month for AIS 4G) so it's not the big deal it once would have been.

It’s a nice and unique hotel, location is very near to the Blue temple which means you better have a car, we have no problem on this, just found it too dark to find the way back to the hotel at night. Our experience was half n half with this hotel, we booked two nights, on the first night with river view, we like the interior with reasonable space, the hotel is building more blocks which start hammering at 8am, on top of that we didn’t sleep at all during the night because it had strange sound from the ceiling, we were on the 4th (top ) floor and it was probably the generator of the air conditioning, the sound came every 15 minutes, so we didn’t sleep n were so tired. We told the front desk next morning and they changed the room for us and upgraded to the pool access room. It was good to have access to the pool directly from your room. Breakfast was nice and have variety of choices. I’m not sure if I will choose this hotel if I go again, I rather have a good sleep than a horrible night even they upgraded us the second night, they didn’t ask how we were when we checking out, seems the upgrade sorted everything, not bothered to tell us why there was noice and not care about any feedback!!

Spacious room and nice hotel ground. Some hardwares in the room are showing signs of age and room temperature is on the warmer side. It’s a decent hotel but lacking warmth in other hotel I visited. The typical Marriott hotel. Had the best latte at Latest Recipe. Thai dinner was good with attentive service. Afternoon tea at Favola with river view was pretty and lots of food.

GGuest UserA very pleasant stay. I stepped off the bus at the station and needed a place quickly as I could tell it would rain soon! Found Bed Friends about 150m away. It's a great place, feels new, is very clean, especially the bathrooms and public areas. The rooms are spotless. I was in the four bed male dorm, it lacked a window but was clean and very comfortable. A locker for my 35 litre backpack and super fast broadband. Breakfast, not sure if this is advertised as being provided. There was certainly toast and jam available and I had a couple of slices but clearly it's not enough and I took my matutinal repast elsewhere. The girl at reception is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area especially when it comes to onward travel. I totally recommend this excellent hostel which is both central and yet quiet so you can get some rest.
Nnakorn thepI stayed at The Riverie by Katathani for a night and I was very impressed by the hotel. The location is great, right by the Kok River and with a stunning view of the mountains. The hotel is beautifully decorated with Lanna style and golden motifs. The room was spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. I especially loved the balcony where I could enjoy the river view and the fresh air. The breakfast was amazing, with a variety of dishes and a different Northern Thai food every day. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and they always greeted me with a smile. The hotel also has a large pool, a fitness center, and three restaurants to choose from. I highly recommend The Peak, a romantic rooftop restaurant with a 180-degree view of Chiang Rai. The food and wine were delicious and the service was excellent. The Riverie by Katathani is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Chiang Rai. I would definitely come back again.
RRobert Bendula JrThis property has 3 sections to it. 1st the Bungalows these are the most outdated and show it but bed's still comfortable these are in A section. B Section is a line of rooms all connected. These are more up to Date and are nice Big rooms with a nice bathroom. The 3rd C Section is a 2 level indoor Walking area to the rooms these have balconies that some overlook the nice swimming pool. Breakfast is served in a very nice area up Front. I found the staff to be very accommodating except for 1 heavy set person on the night staff who was More into his Phone then helping me and answering my question it's as if I was interfering with his video game or whatever he was doing but definitely not doing his Job. If you want to drink anything more than a coffee cup size bring your own drinking items because they only have coffee cups as I have been told by this night staff. Not having regular drinking glasses at a Resort?? Minus 10 points Big slip in my book. But overall very quiet and relaxing. A little outside of the City it's self but definitely not Bad and a good choice for a few nights. Pictures from Section B
PPloyycs🛖🌳 Friendly accommodation hidden in the Chiang Rai community It is also secretly in the alley. If not intended It will definitely be not a drive through. When entering, it will be like a big house. with spacious area Divided into a cafe, rooms and lawn 🌿🍃
The room we stayed in was Deluxe, price 2,000, on the 2nd floor. The room has complete facilities. The clothes rail is a little short. Because there is no wardrobe Bathroom is available If there is a shower zone partition, it would be better. There is a small balcony. Make it a sofa to sit and chill.
🍳🍚🍞 Breakfast is served as a set with pan-fried eggs, boiled rice and toast.
PPoBoxEarthWe stayed here recently, and while the room was big, it felt a bit bare, there wasn’t much furniture, just one bedside table and no proper chair - only a stool. There was no coffee or kettle in the room, but you can get free hot water at the café downstairs (just ask for it) and purchase instant coffee packets, or get a fresh brewed coffee for a fair price.
The room had windows at the front and back, but only the one facing the walkway had an insect screen, which was odd since it doesn’t offer any privacy when the window and curtains are open. The back window opened onto an open field, but has no screen.
The curtains were about 80% light-blocking, so the room stayed dim after sunrise.
The beds were comfy, but the Wi-Fi signal in our room was weak and slow, we had to use our mobile phone data to get decent speeds. Parking is limited, and all the spaces were taken by 8 PM, so plan ahead if you’re driving. There was quite a lot of construction noise starting around 9 AM, but considering it was shortly after the floods, it’s understandable they needed to do repairs.
Overall, it’s okay for a short stay if you don’t mind a few quirks, but there’s definitely room for improvement.
GGuest UserChainarai Riverside Recreation Centre is an underrated 5 Star hotel which will blow your mind! The hotel is huge with vast grounds, multiple parking lots, and lush tropical greenery. Located beside the Kok River, it is a grand architectural marvel of well appointed rooms, suitable for solo travelers, couples and families. The two bedroom suite has a King bed with bathtub, twin beds with rain shower, a living room, 3 TVs, 3 bathrooms, 3 ACs, ceiling high wardrobes, 3 huge balconies with full riverside views and amazingly firm comfortable beds. The building materials and fittings of the newly renovated hotel are of a quality that surpasses even 5 star hotels. The buffet breakfast is included in the room rates and has a generous menu to get your day started. The salad bar had the freshest vegetables I have ever eaten in any hotel....or restaurant. This hotel screams CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN...you can practically walk barefooted everywhere! For USD89/3,000 THB a night for the suite with breakfast (USD33/1,130 THB for Deluxe King), I'm wondering if they priced the room rates wrong, as other 5 star hotels would cost 2-3 times more...and their room size would not even be as big (112 sq m for the Suite, 39 sq m for King). For a peaceful and relaxing stay in Chiang Rai, Chainarai Riverside is the ultimate luxury getaway.
GGuest UserGood accommodation with many types of rooms. There are only 3 en suite bathrooms. There are 4 private rooms in the shared water and a dorm room for 6 people. Below there is a cool cafe, sipping wine, eating delicious food. The restaurant has a very good atmosphere. The shop has music every Friday and Saturday. There is a private room To sit and talk or meeting The shop is decorated with only cool vintage items. There is a book hanging from the ceiling. It's a very beautiful design book.
GGuest UserIt’s new and nice decorating there. Clean and good service and friendly from reception. Room are nice 😊 Have parking and good location it convenient to traveling around. Breakfast also nice have choice for Asia and European too. Quiet is nice for take some rest here. I would like to recommend this hotel it very nice.
JJIPINGThe owner is very attentive and very attentive. The cool clothes are very convenient. It is 12 minutes walk from the station and 10 minutes away from the troubles. There is a free drink and breakfast at 50 baht, which is very affordable. The only drawback is that the toilet ring is broken and not repaired in time, and the water leakage under the washbasin is not repaired.
SSharco77The B2 Night Bazar Chiang Rai is very easy to reach from AH1. Since the hotel has no seat, we decided to have a room on the 1st floor with Twin bed, since the double beds were already forgiven on arrival day (sunday). The room and bathroom are small. It has a mirror, small TV with bad signal, water cooker, soluble coffee, 2 bottles of water, refrigerator, small pump with hocker, bath tools, air conditioning and clothing. The storage areas for 2 people with baggage are insufficient for Us. The WiFi signal is good. The room is held in grey (visual concrete), the transferred electronic wires are painted without pleasure with grey color. The staff was friendly at the check-in, the meeting with the cleaner was friendly. The bed lakes were changed, unfortunately, you should consider to be new, since there were visible places. The cleanliness in the room solara. The night of Sunday is 640. - Monday 610. - THB plus deposit 500. - THB for the keycard. Unfortunately nothing for us.
