It is a relatively good resort hotel. The hotel has been newly renovated. The internal structure can still be seen as an old building. The hotel is clean and beautiful. You can drive there by yourself or take a taxi.

One of the best hotels I've been to! I went because I was attracted to the spa, but I came out because I fell in love with other activities. Outdoor swimming is great, including tennis and golf.

Hotel room is good and very comfortable. Most of the experience has been very poor Check in at golf was woeful and having checked in and paid I am asked to leave the first tee to complete their internal paperwork they didn’t do when we checked in and paid. They needed me to sign so they can transfer the bill to the room despite paying weeks ago. Unsupervised children on all golf practise areas including the putting green. People walk the course, literally in front of tee blocks as you tee off. Half the car park is reserved so parking is very remote. It’s a big hotel so it can be a long walk. Golf service is average, no one to take the cart after playing, I’d normally tip but there is no one to tip. I’ve stayed at lots of golf resorts and have played here before and it was good. It’s not a patch on Glen Eagles and if you expect North American levels of service don’t even consider it.

Booked this hotel as a 40th birthday surprise for my husband. I'd paid for a Sequoia Stay which included, breakfast, lunch, dinner and a trea**ent. Upon arrival they allowed us to check in early which was great. I had paid extra for a superior room and they had upgraded our room to a deluxe room with a balcony. Our food the entire time was brilliant. The location is beautiful, rooms are beautiful, comfortable and luxurious. Spa was lovely although it would have been better to have more loungers around the pool but not sure this is feasible given the layout. Breakfast in the Glasshouse was the best I'd ever had. Waitress was very attentive and kept my husband's coffee refilled which he liked. There was so much on offer at the buffet it was amazing. Lunch was in Sequoia Kitchen. Not entirely my taste food wise as I'm more of a carby gal but it was delicious none the less. The beetroot brownie was so good! Dinner was in The Stables. It was a lovely chilled a**osphere, waiters were very attentive and polite. Cocktails were lovely! Dinner was also really good here too. The day we departed we had booked an evening meal for my husbands birthday in The Glasshouse. There was 10 of us and not one of us came away disappointed. Yes, it's expensive but it was an experience in itself. There was so much food and choices you need a second stomach! We also had a delivery of prosecco and chocolates to our room along with a Happy Birthday card to my husband - how sweet! I would return in a heartbeat!! On our departure when I settled our bill the receptionist asked about where I had come from. When I said that our family and our two young children were driving up to come celebrate with us she straight away said "I have a little something for them I hope they like". I thought she would get out a little drawing/activity pack but she got them The Grove Donkey Soft Teddy's each. I thought it was a really lovely touch. I have a small part time job around my children so had saved a long time to afford this night away for my husband and The Grove had added some perfect extra touches for me that just helped make the celebration even better, I really appreciated the extra touches - thank you!

I was disappointed with my stay here. I had been following the pictures and images posted on social media and was eager to stay, when the time was right. I had a spare weekend and was looking for a bit of rest and relaxation so thought this would be a great pick, not far from London. The location is good, easy to get to from London. On arrival, I went straight to lunch, and chose a goats cheese sandwich, but asked for no walnuts - this couldn't be done, and I went for a second option of a duck salad, but I found the quality poor and barely ate any of it. To be fair the manager said I did not have to pay for it, but I was more interested in having something to eat than having a free lunch that I could not eat. The following morning we wandered to have a look at the facilities to see what we would do, but were not allowed to see what facilities were available, eg gym, or the library (which was booked for a private event). We proceeded to the lounge areas, but the dining options were poor (pretty much the same as the lunch that hadn't worked the previous day), so plenty of tea/coffee to drink, but nothing to go with it (a small complimentary biscuit but no scones, cakes etc other than large desserts). We decided to have afternoon tea and were delighted to get seats, after a 45 minute wait, so appreciated the restaurant manager fitting us in without a booking. However, it was a disappoin**ent, I was looking for a standard english afternoon tea. I had seen many lovely pictures of same on social media, but what was presented was not to my taste nor like any of the images I had seen. Trying then to make a dinner booking was really difficult, so we didn't have a choice where we went. There were so many people in the hotel on the Saturday evening there was barely anywhere to sit and have a quiet drink. The breakfast room is quite stunning and the range of food available for breakfast was top class, some of the best I have seen in a long time. The hotel room we had was one of the most basic, but I thought it was lovely. It was well designed and kitted out, with a lovely big bathroom. So overall, there are some great things about this hotel - the grounds are stunning - but the sheer volume of people do not make it idyllic. I found the food options very poor and sections of the hotel blocked off to visitors. It was not the dreamy relaxing experience I thought it might be.
