This hotel is located in an excellent location for the gondola to take you straight to the slopes. However the food was awful. It was often cold or barely warm and just not appealing at all. Breakfast was ok but the meals on an evening just awful. They did not cater for vegetarians and 2 of our party ate very little due to this. They had soup to help yourself to and I took a bowl and it was cold - they had forgot to put the heater on. Rooms were good and kept very clean and had a fantastic shower. The female on the bar was very helpful. I would not return to this hotel purely for the very poor quality of the food.

Not sure if we were paying for the location as the hotel itself wasn’t great. It would be perfect for staying for B&B but I certainly don’t rate it for a half-board stay. Positives - bedrooms were clean and beds comfortable. Bathrooms look recently refurbished and the showers were great. Staff were generally friendly & helpful. I found the breakfast offering good but I’m not one for a cooked breakfast so can’t comment from that perspective. If you do like a cooked breakfast then they have scrambled eggs and boiled eggs available. The hotel is relatively close to the lift and the ski bus stops right outside the hotel. We visited toward the end of March and had no troubles with lift queues. Negatives - a couple in our party are vegetarian. There were very few options for vegetarian meals, on some occasions fish options being advertised as the vegetarian option. On the evening we arrived we were presented with a plated selection of leftovers from the evening meal which consisted of meat lasagne, some form of braised meat in gravy and a scoop of mash. This was fine for me but clearly left the vegetarians amongst us with a scoop of mash for dinner. Luckily they were ok with the meat items on the same plate. They were reheated in the microwave to just above tepid. Most meals from then on could only pass for warmish. By the end of the week we were going for dinner a little earlier and the meals were hotter so I suspect meals are plated early and not kept warm, plates were certainly stone cold. There were some appetiser options available before your selected starter arrived, but unless you got down for dinner early some of these would have been eaten by early dinner guests and not replaced. Etiquette wasn’t great with guests plates being taken away before everyone at the table had finished and on one occasion a main course being left at the side of the person while they were still eating their starter. You couldn’t spend cash at the bar. You got a bar tab per room, which accumulated throughout the week. As I was sharing a room with a friend it meant we had to keep track of what we were drinking each day. We had other concerns but I think I’ve covered the main issues. The resort and ski area are great.

Love this place , the location, food and staff are exceptional , can’t fault it , we came with a group and not one person had anything bad to say , the only small negative and it’s nothing to do with the hotel is that the lift queues in the morning are awful so we simply didn’t go till 930 and they are fine then

Points for this hotel is that it is in a good position in Campitello. The gondola regularly has a queue exceeding 45 minutes. The queue at Canazei looked worse as we passed in the bus to Alba. Queue there about 25 minutes. Points against is that it is disorganised regarding food and the quality and presentation of food leaves a lot to be desired. "Hot" food is not readily found. The breakfast buffet is spread around with plates, cutlery and food items in random places but like items not together. Breakfast items are finished and not replenished unless you complain. Evening meal courses may be dished, and served, long before you arrive at your allocated table. We have recently booked self catering ski holidays with Crystal, but thought we would step up a level to half board this year. A number of us, however, took our evening meal out. I would advise against staying here.

We stayed here at the end of Feb with friends and this was our second trip to the hotel. The hotel is conveniently located a short 5 min walk from the gondola. Rooms are a good size, clean and the beds are comfy. The shower in our room was very small, but the water was always hot and pressure good, which is all you need. By contrast our friends had an updated room where the shower was of a bigger size. Yes, much of the hotel decor is very old, but this often is the case with Italian hotels. Friendly staff who went out of their way to provide breakfast at 4am before our early check out, which was welcomed. The food was very good value for money. Plenty to eat at breakfast, and a good choice for 1st and 2nd plates at dinner. The ski and boot room is of a decent size, but our top tip is to use the depot at the top of the gondola on the mountain, as this saves lugging skis and boots around each day even for the short walk that it is.

Could not have been better Arrived to a very busy reception, but the staff were very efficient and professional. The receptionists were very friendly on a daily basis, and were able to help me organise a delivery...their Italian was better than mine! The hotel was brilliantly located, just a stones throw away from the gondola and a tiny walk to the bars and supermarket. It was clean and well laid out. The room was reasonably sized, with a balcony and had all you'd expect. Cleaned daily. Breakfast was the usual European buffet fare, the delight came in the evening though. Superb meals. Couldn't ask for better. One slight criticism is that there is no water on the tables... if you want a bottle, you pay for it. I'm already looking to book for next year. Thank you

Second visit, our room had been upgraded and was adequate for a ski trip, housekeeping is excellent, everywhere is clean and towels are changes regularly. Unfortunately the food was very poor, breakfast offering just adequate, scrambled eggs only hot offering, BUT cold! Dinner is quite obviously plated in advance so is also cold. Staff appear to be under pressure to get meals out so did not wait until previous course was complete before presenting next course. This restaurant needs a major improvement to food offering and customer service, as a consequence we ate at various other restaurants in town, all of which were excellent. I offered feedback on leaving which was graciously accepted, if anything changes remains to be seen.

I had a reservation at the hotel Grohmann via crystal ski. I made the booking at the start of January and the hotel has been on sale for weeks afterwards. I received a phone call from crystal ski 4 days prior to my arrival saying the hotel had accepted a large group booking and kicked crystal ski customers out! I think this is completely unacceptable and unprofessional behaviour for the hotel. As you can imagine, so close to departure, finding an alternative is difficult and we can no longer visit Val di Fassa due to this. I’m sure we will return at some point but we will never book this hotel again. I strongly recommend that people think twice before booking, especially if you actually want your holiday to go ahead!

Hotel was in a good position for access to the cable car around 200m and no more than a couple of minutes walk. The hotel itself was spotlessly clean and warm. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The bar area is cosy with a large selection of wines and spirits, although only one draught beer. Meals were perfectly fine, usual continental style breakfast, with cereals, bread cooked meats, cheese, fruit etc, dinners were selected at the previous evening's meal generally 3 or 4 choices. I never used the spa so can't comment. The only complaint I have was the ski room where there was no heated boot rack or heating to dry off equipment for the next day. Would I stay here again that would be yes and would recommend to others as well.
