Decent hotel, Great location for NEC and going to see a show. Pro’s: -Room was cleanish -bed very comfortable -staff were really friendly and great for a chat -Felt very safe there and carpark seemed safe also -nice bar serving drinks until late -snack machine Con’s: -Room was absolutely boiling even though it wasn’t that hot outside and air con and bathroom fan didn’t seem to work. However our friends room wasn’t boiling so not sure if that applies to every room. -food was really bad and not particularly cheap. We did the meal deal option which would have been good value had the meals been any good. My starter of dough balls tasted liked fish let it slide. Main was ok but small and desert was ok. However breakfast next day was absolutely awful, worst breakfast we’ve ever had and we are not fussy and usually like cheap and cheerful. It was so bad we cancelled the next days breakfast. Not sure if something had gone wrong and no chef in as I can’t see many other bad reviews about the breakfast. Firstly they said it wasn’t busy enough for buffet (despite fact show was on) so it was order to table, fair enough but a bit disappointing. Continental was unappealing. Never thought pastries and pancakes could taste bad but I was wrong, very dry. Our hot meals came out and our scrambled eggs were rehydrated eggs still sitting in a bowl of milk!! So bizarre. Boiled egg was rock solid I was too scared to eat it. Even the hash brown wasn’t good. Meat was ok according to my boyfriend. He was sick over night but unsure if that’s related to food. Over all , good base to stay if travelling or seeing a show (although moxy is much closer) would recommend for a short stay but try not to come in heat wave because if hot rooms and avoid the food!

The nicest part of the hotel is the bar. Other than that I see no reason to stay here. The check-in desks are informal islands, the size of a dinner table where they check two guests in at the same time. So you are shoulder to shoulder with another guest and trying to make out your portion of two simultaneous conversations. When I got to my room, it was warm and stinky. I tried turning on the ventilation system, but it would not work. Called reception, they said they’d send somebody up to look at it. I waited over half an hour, nobody showed, so I called reception again. No answer. Over the next 15 minutes I tried a few more times, still no answer. So I figured I’d go downstairs to see what’s going on. The three reception clerks were just standing there chatting amongst themselves, no guests waiting. I guess they couldn’t be bothered to answer the phone. Anyway, now that I was at reception and explained the situation again, they gave me another room. That room had some really old, worn furniture and was actually a bit smaller than my original room. My punishment for requesting a decent room I guess. We had booked two rooms and the other room was very cold throughout the stay, with the air conditioner running hard all the time. Changing the settings on the thermostat has no effect. Breakfast was mediocre in offering. For a big room, there was only one coffee machine working. The queue was about 20 people deep at one point. Some of the warm food on the buffet was clearly not being warmed and had cooled to room temp, which is probably a food safety issue. We had requested a late checkout, were told 2pm, but keycards stopped working at 1pm. If you are looking to stay here because you want to be next to the shopping mall, be sure to check out the mall’s website first, it is quite small, and does not offer women’s apparel. There is also not much else to do in the area. I feel that this hotel is very expensive for what it has to offer. The rooms are worn out and uncomfortable and the staff that can’t be bothered to put in the slightest effort to make things right. They are probably just as frustrated working in this place as the guests are that stay here.

As soon as you go into the revolving door you are hit by a clean fresh sent. The hotel downstairs feels modern and clean. Check in was quick and easy and we got a free complementary cocktail each as it was our first time staying at Moxy. Our room was brilliant with motion lighting under the bed and switches at the bed side for other soft lights. The view of the lake and fountain was great. Perfect location to the NEC Birmingham and across the lake you have lots of eateries. We would stay here again if ever going to the NEC.

Hotel location is good, but no Novotel is close to the airport. Novotel is walking at the door of the airport glass door for a minute. This hotel is to take the airport light rail for three minutes, then get off the train for ten minutes to walk through the exhibition hall. The exhibition hall is about five minutes walk. Remember that the hotel entrance is at the pizza shop. After entering the door, the elevator is on the second floor. It is the lobby, don't go wrong or circle. The breakfast is very suitable for the Chinese stomach, and the variety is very rich. I live here because I want to participate in the cake show every November. The picture is that it is convenient to go to the exhibition hall without going too far, otherwise the mobile phone is tired. Actually, it is also very tired, stop and go all the way. The hotel is actually a Shanghai-like Heshenghui, a big shopping mall. The hotel reception is in the corner of the second floor of the shopping mall. The guest room is inside the corner building built outside the main building. I feel that the floor of the guest room is built instead of cement, but the quality is very good. . There are not many stores in the mall, the British consumption is not high in the country, and there is a little bit of Colombia in the north. It feels high consumption. There are very few other shops. There is a coffee shop costa in the mall. You can buy a sandwich clerk to help you heat up. The huge sandwich is delicious. There is a specialty store in the Swiss Lotus chocolate, and it is more cost-effective to sell chocolate. Finally, the check-out of this hotel is not to check the room, the room card can go directly to the front desk.
