Arriving here after a long travel day was like seeing an oasis, the large white gates and hotel staff greeted us - taking our bags and directing us where to sign in - all in a very quiet setting (the hotel is always quiet - very little outside noises and staff/guests are considerate of the peaceful atmosphere). Extremely clean, pool was relaxing and refreshing. The grounds was like walking amongst a museum with lighting at night. We had a suite for 4 of us - two master bedrooms joined by a large comfortable living room and a private covered deck where we spent much time reading, sleeping, catching up on our jet lagged bodies. The location is at the heart of many temples and in old city, foot rubs, places to eat, and a wonderful laundry lady across the street who had our clothes cleaner than we've ever had them in 24 hours. The restaurant was elegant, quiet, dinner was accompanied by local live music which was just the right volume. When we return, we will stay here again.

The rooms are really beautiful and clean. We were showed to our room upon arrival and were welcomed with champagne and fruits in the room. Drinks in the fridge and snacks were complimentary and they had bathtub in the balcony. There may be bugs at night so do remember to close the balcony door. Public pool is small but nice, not much guests using it. The breakfast is so awesome with exquisite plating and good service, not to be missed. For afternoon tea, we only managed to try it on the first day as we were out the next few days. We were also gifted sandwiches when we were leaving, not to mention it was so nice. Will definitely visit again when I go Chiangmai.

Excellent two night stay in this adorable boutique hotel located inside the old city. Beds were very, very comfortable. We stayed in the heritage house jr suite and our teen daughters stayed in a deluxe king room. Both rooms were spacious and wonderful. The food (breakfast and dinner) was excellent!! The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and polite. I had an excellent foot massage at the spa. We also participated in two OUTSTANDING tours (Northern Highlights and Chiang Mai CityTemples). My only regret is we didn’t have time to enjoy the gorgeous pool. We would stay here again.

We spent a few days in August in this hotel and the truth is that it was excellent value for money. The friendly and decisive staff. Location in the square of Chiang Mai, totally central. On the other hand, the room was cozy, and the pool, although logical because we are in Thailand in the north, there were a lot of mosquitoes, it was clean and the same as the room, cozy and clean. I arrived to the hotel and on the outside it looked really nice, and the staff was very nice. The girl who checked me in thow wasn't that great to understand english, so I was lucky to speak some thai. The didn't help you with your bags up to the room, but I didn't mind because I travel with good working bags that has wheels. When I came in the room the first thing that hit me was a bad smell from the toilet. (I was given a room on the top floor 608 to be precise. The size of the room was ok, but the furniture I could see how dirty and worn down rhey where. It looked like something the bought on a fleemarket. Further on I tried the bed it was the worst matress I have ever slept on, not only that the hotel is next to a road and at night it was so noicy from traffic so I didn't get much sleep. Sometimes I woke up and thought I had a motorbike in my room. I had booked a stay for 5 nights, but after 1 night I decided to move. So after one more painful night I checked out from this hotel and will NEVER return again.

Stopped here a few times, mainly because my Thai in-laws love the place, only because it is so close to the airport. Every visit something was wrong!! Not exactly the cheapest accommodation either.The toilet would not flush in one room, the taps at the bathroom sink turned with the handles in another room. We could not sleep because of the road noise (we were on the 5th floor!) in another room. The wi-fi was non-existent in one room.There was no hot water in another room. Every room the shower trays filled up with soapy water and was very slippery; dangerous in fact. The breakfast was OK for me, nothing flash. Toast, jam, juice, tea, coffee, milo, all the basics. Not real sure why people were climbing through the window to get here though. One lady I saw scraped all the brown off her toast, so that is was just white!!?? (Something to do with Thais believing that toast causes cancer I was told). Loved the sign beside the toaster that actually worked (the other one was broken on every visit and was just sitting there collecting dust). No cancer from that one! Words to this effect: ”Please do not put butter and jam on bread before placing in toaster.” At least the beer from reception 'fridge was cheaper than most shops. Nice and cold too. Gotta love it!

We looked at google maps and tried all of the places closest. No vacancies. We found this budget hotel that had ONE room left! It is in walking distance to Three Kings Monument, Phra Singh, and other Old City venues, massage spas, etc. Estia has a cottage feeling, like a hotel in rural Europe with Thai surroundings. Everything was clean, large bathroom, hot water, the usual soaps and shampoos. bring your own conditioner and shavers. We always bring our own just in case, but sometimes these budget hotels will give you them if you ask. The wifi was strong. The TV had the usual Thai channels with a few in English. The gardens were sweet with lots of flowers. The pool is clean and more lounge chairs than at some luxury hotels! The indoor dining area is large for groups and you can sit outside but it might not be convenient for toasting bread etc. We only ate breakfast, and, at 149 baht, it was very reasonable. A water jug and clean glasses, an automated americano and espresso machine, fresh milk and cream, cereals including muesli etc. White and whole wheat bread. You choose from menu pancakes or eggs of different cooking methods. Two eggs. You get a small plate of two types of fruit. If you calculate the cost of coffee, this 149 baht price is very fair. A suggestion for certain travelers: you could stay at a luxury resort a day or more for the experience then switch to Estia for the rest of the week unless you are very picky, because if you are a tourist out all day then this is just a place to sleep. We live in Chiang Mai as retirees. Staying in Estia brought me back to my youth traveling around Europe! At $27 a night, Estia may surprise you. I guess that is the reason why the hotel is not fully occupied and in many occasions you have the entire pool and kitchen to yourself which is wonderful! The kitchen offers a few options for cooked rice and eggs. The freshly cooked fried rice and fried rice noodles are really delicious.. But the kitchen staff are not very fluent in English so they may misunderstood your orders. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed so far. Very clean and looks very nice and pleasing. I think this is newly built. Staff are so kind and accommodating. Place is close to temples, massage spas, stores, restos, old gate is 20 min walk. I don’t usually like being on the top bunk but this stay was comfortable. Beds are nice and sturdy. Big too. You dont hear a noise when going up the top bunk. Small breakfast of coffee and toast are provided in the morning.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at Nai Wiang and were blown away by the overall experience. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive and this place is probably the cleanest place in all of Thailand. You could eat off the bathroom floor; it is spotless! The little deck out back is nice for relaxing and tends to be a bit cooler than out on the street. We stayed in a room on the third floor up a narrow but quaint staircase. The room was small but was the perfect size for the two of us, our 2 bags and had a comfortable queen-sized bed. Excellent air conditioner which cooled down the room rather quickly due to the small size. Large shower with multiple shower head options and complimentary shampoo, conditioner and body wash. We came back each day to fresh swan towels on a nicely made bed. Television in the room though we didn't use it so cannot comment on it. The hostel is in a great location in the Old City, half a block away from the Sunday market, a 15min walk to the Saturday market and essentially anywhere in the city walls. Staff will take your laundry for 60THB/Kg and it's ready the next day. Overall a great experience; you will not regret staying here.

The hotel consists of four buildings, each four stories high in a quadrangle formation. The pool is inside the quadrangle and all rooms are accessed from an open walkways around the interior of the quadrangle. Unfortunately, the noise reverberates and echoes throughout the hotel. We were woken at 5 am by a screaming baby and again at 7 am by guests rolling their suitcases on the walkways. Our room appeared to have been recently refurbished, all cabinetry and paint was in good condition with no chips or signs of wear and tear. The bathroom however was a different story and needs a complete renovation. The room was comfortable and a good price. The hotel appears popular with overnight tour groups.

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed so far. Very clean and looks very nice and pleasing. I think this is newly built. Staff are so kind and accommodating.
