Hostal Sa Rascassa is really in a class all its own. Oscar and Merche (the owners) were in touch with me as soon as I booked the room to verify some dates and dinner plans. They have created a really special and wonderful place! The hotel sits steps away from the cove, so you can hear the ocean at night. It's also steps away from the Cami De Ronda, which you can walk for MILES from town to town Sa Tuna is a short walk, which I think is also the closest accessible "beach" you'd go to - the beach in front of Hostal Sa Rascassa seems more like it's a place where you'd launch a kayak or a small boat, not where you'd sit out and get some sun. The rooms open up to a deck with common space, and there are only 5 or 6 rooms, so you get to interact with your fellow guests which is a really nice communal experience. Check in is easy, with your name on a little chalk board outside of the room - like I said...charming. The beds were very comfortable, and exactly what we needed after a day of hiking the Cami de Ronda. Dinner is good - although I should say that if you are vegetarian, you have limited options. However, they were happy to modify and accommodate, which was great! The food is fresh and cooked to order, which is awesome. But let's talk about breakfast...AWESOME. Breakfast is included in the cost of the hotel, and it puts other complementary breakfasts to shame. There are fresh eggs, toast, fruit, and they'll even make a latte for you. AND they have oat milk! Hostal Sa Rascassa was a great place to spend a few days. If you're visiting Barcelona, I would definitely recommend heading north and relaxing here for a day or two...get a break from the big city. This was also a great home base for our daylong trip up to the French border, and then over to Girona. All in all, this was one of our favorite places we stayed. Thank you Oscar and Merche for creating something so special!
