By the way, the receptionist, a woman, is friendly."

"It was great to come back to the Blue Sky again. Last time we were here, it was the old hotel in 1989. What a change from the original structure, completely unrecognisable! From the moment you arrive and get out the car to the point when you go out of the front door again to go somewhere, everyone you encounter makes you feel special, even the staff outside looking after the car park gate. There was even one staff member who remembered us from 1989, we couldn't believe it! The room we stayed in was the Deluxe Double Bed type. Room was clean, looked fresh and had everything we needed. The only issue we had was the shower head came out of the flexible water pipe fitting during use with tap on full (it looked like it had been fixed before with plumber's ptfe tape). We had breakfasts only but great choice and delicious. Mix of western, Indonesian & Japanese food. Restaurant staff were so polite and helpful and were quite nuanced when asking how you like your food/drinks prepared. I can understand some of the other reviews of this hotel and references to how it seems dated and in need of refurbishment in some areas. I assume these reviews are based on comparing like for like between hotels in the same price range and in different countries. I guess it depends on what you want out of a hotel. Having worked in, lived in and returned many times to Indonesia, I have grown to know what to expect here so, for us, it was everything we expected and would not hesitate to come back again."
