On May 13, I arrived at the store at 10 pm. Through the intermediary, paid extra money, got an upgrade and stayed in the cabin pool view room. However, it was told that the room would have to be empty the next day (and it seems that this happens often in this hotel). They were able to offer standard rooms but we refused and we asked for a room of the same price or a better room as compensation. As a result we got a one-bedroom apartment located right on the building. My lover and I spent an hour in the house, unable to bear the smell of dampness, which was everywhere, and the closet was full of mold. We have been to Bali many times, all the hotels are a bit damp because the climate is relatively humid, but this hotel is really wet and breathing is difficult. We came to the lobby again and asked for a room change. So we came to a deluxe room on the left wing of the lobby, 317. It was just an ordinary room, double bed, not bad smell, relatively clean, and air conditioning was very good. We could see the upgraded room the next afternoon, but no one came to inform us later, so we stayed in that room. I thought we didn't have much time in the house every day, and the cockroaches were just sleeping at night. The breakfast buffet here is average compared to other three-star hotels we have stayed in. Some ordinary bacon, eggs, toast and juice are available according to customers' preferences. But bacon often does not, because the waiter will not replenish the whole plate, and the cockroach is to replenish a small dish every time, this hotel seems stingy. There are also rice, noodles, chicken porridge and potato corners, but this menu never changes, the only change indicates that the egg noodles will become spinach noodles, or the potato corners will become potato balls... During our stay there, they are changing the top of the lobby, and there is always the sound of air guns during the day, which is more annoying. But it's interesting to see the behavior of local workers. Room service is fast, but expensive, not worth it, and there is a 21% government tax and surcharge. The floors are neat and clean, the swimming pool is clean and there are not many people. Some guests came back early in the morning and took a swim and were rude, but we didn't mind. We found the staff here were friendly and polite, but maybe a little less efficient and not very good at handling guests' requests. The room was sorted out every day and someone came to mop the floor. Be careful, this hotel is different from most hotels, will not have two free bottles of water with you every day, but there is a water bottle in their minibar, which is full of tap water! Don't drink that water! ! ! ! Many people we talked to felt uncomfortable after drinking those so-called ”bottled water”. If you use the water in the minibar, you have to pay, so be careful! ! I suggest you look at other hotels first, you can't live here, there are many better three-star hotels, the price is the same, or it can be cheaper. By the way, in Bali, any day the weather is very good! In Bali, you have to be polite, flexible and smiling, it will be a pleasant holiday!

Ananta Legian Hotel

We booked 3 poolside rooms for an 8 day family holiday. My wife had stayed at the Ananta some years ago, apparently during its glory years and we were confident of a laid back resort atmosphere that our teenage children would enjoy as much as us. Well…..we soon noticed there was a severe lack of maintenance. In fact, we weee told only 50 rooms in the resort were now used and the top 2 floors had basically been abandoned . The rooftop bar is non existent, our showers hardly worked, digital card door lochs needed reprogramming most days, getting pool towels and ice to keep drinks cold ( as the room fridges were set to room temp) was like pulling teeth. The breakfast was a mediocre repetitive buffet for the first half if our stay until after New years when they didn’t even bother and only offered an “al la carte” American or Indonesian “ breakfast . Staff were friendly and doing their best but were usually hard to find. Rarely manning the pool bar, reception desk and late to make rooms up . Rooms have minimal facilities, no extra pillows, mini bar, ice , adapters , we noticed some pool access rooms had stained curtains. Despite the above, we had a great time but it wasn’t because of the standard of accommodation. This place was once great , is in a good location and could be excellent again with some investment and a change of attitude. Presently though , there’s obviously better options

Booked 3-bedroom unit with Club Bali points worth of 3years+ membership fee. What we got were what looked like a hardly maintained old unit, stinky rooms and dirty bathrooms. The furnitures are tired, rooms are dark, the building roof structures sound torn apart during the heavy rains, we couldn’t sleep every night. Really difficult to call staff / room service, as most of the staff we met were Jayakarta Hotel staff, which hesitant to attend the needs of Club Bali guests and would refer us to the non-existent Club-Bali staff instead. The overall stays were not worth even third the price we paid! Disappointing and ruin our long-awaited family trip to Bali. Wouldn’t ever renew my membership with Club Bali.

After 3 years (next door!)at the Jayakarta we decided enough was enough so we booked at the KP after being taken for an inspection by their ever-attentive staff. We arrived on 9th March and were checked-in is super fast time by the wonderful reception staff and ushered immediately to our room in Block B. We were shown all the features of the room by the very polite staff member. We booked a double bed deluxe room and we were ecstatic to have a substantial verandah with views over the magnificent gardens and swimming pool. The most attractive feature to us about the KP was it's authentic Balinese decor- not the featureless monolithic buildings and stark gardens of the newer resorts. Breakfast was always delicious and plentiful and of course the Italian food at the attractive garden restaurant overlooking the beach never disappointed. All in all a wonderful holiday, thanks KP! PS I've booked immediately for 2021 !

More about Bali

Introduction to Bali

Bali, an Indonesian island known for its forested volcanic mountains, iconic rice paddies, and stunning beaches, is the country's most famous tourist destination. Filled with ancient temples, rich arts and crafts, and a vibrant nightlife, Bali offers a kaleidoscopic blend of natural beauty and cultural depth.

Tips for Travelling to Bali

Bali's main international gateway is Ngurah Rai International Airport, located near the capital city, Denpasar. Travelers can explore Bali through taxis, local buses, bicycles, motorbikes, or even hired cars.

The official currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Most hotels and restaurants accept credit cards, but having some cash on hand for local markets and smaller venues is recommended. Indonesian is the official language, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas.

As for visas, many nationalities can enter Indonesia visa-free for up to 30 days, but it's best to check before your journey.

Popular Attractions in Bali

Bali offers a wealth of cultural and natural attractions. Explore the ancient temples of Tanah Lot and Uluwatu, or immerse yourself in the artistic heritage of Ubud, Bali's cultural heart. Visit the Tegalalang Rice Terraces and the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary for unique experiences.

Bali's beaches are equally enticing, with Kuta Beach, Seminyak Beach, and Nusa Dua Beach offering vibrant beach life. Surfing enthusiasts will love the waves at Uluwatu and Canggu.

Weather, Best Time to Visit, and What to Wear

Bali enjoys a tropical climate with temperatures fairly consistent year-round. The best times to visit are during the dry season, from April to October. Bring lightweight, breathable clothing, a hat, and sunscreen to protect from the sun. Also, remember to dress modestly when visiting temples.

Choosing Your Ideal Hotel in Bali

For luxury beachfront accommodation, consider the Legian Bali or the W Bali in Seminyak. In Ubud, the Hanging Gardens of Bali offers a unique luxury experience with its Instagram-famous infinity pool.

For budget travelers, the Puri Garden Hotel and Hostel in Ubud offers comfort and excellent service. The Dash Hotel Seminyak, with its eclectic and colorful design, is an Instagram-worthy stay.
