We stayed for 6 nights in Alam Shanti and just wished we had stayed longer! We had a lovely big room with a balcony overlooking the gardens where we had breakfast most days. Breakfasts were generous and very yummy, with lots of options - but we could not go past the banana pancakes! Service was fantastic and all the staff were very friendly! Afternoon tea was served each day and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. The main street of Ubud is only a short walk away and they also offer a free shuttle service. We can’t wait to come back!

Loved our stay! It exceeded our expectations. The food on offer was delicious, the afternoon teas were lovely, the staff was very friendly, the room was quite spacious and basically in the middle of the jungle with monkey visitors and all!!
The ambience was relaxing and everything was more than we hoped for. Thank you to Putu, Cynthia and all!!

How wonderful it was to return after the far too long Covid hiatus!! Still wonderful, still many of the same lovely employees (Hi Ayu and Kadek!) still the same delicious breakfast and fantastic service - Alam Shanti I missed you so much!! Can’t wait to return again VERY soon Really can’t fault this place, 10/10 always!

I wouldn't change a thing about Alam Shanti, it's one of the most beautiful, welcoming, relaxing and authentic places I have ever stayed. The rooms are spacious and gorgeously furnished, the staff so friendly and kind, the gardens are incredible - it's an absolutely haven in busy Ubud. Shanti is ideal for family groups - we booked Gangga and Yamuna, two one-bedroom suites in one house that share a stunning private pool. The privacy and poolside-service was fantastic. The spa is great and amazing value. Alam Shanti also organised a bicycle tour for us which was excellent. There is a real sense of genuine Balinese hospitality here that I highly recommend.

This was my third visit to Alam Shanti and it never disappoints. Whilst Ubud has become more busy, this place provides a perfect retreat to relax and unwind - the beautiful grounds, pool, spacious rooms and delicious breakfast are matched by the friendly and attentive staff.

Unique experience of individual bungalows; bedrooms designed with an outdoor bathroom. Very comfortable, spacious room with own front terrace. Comfortable large bed with mosquito net, minibar, A/C, welcome fruit bowl. Excellent breakfast. I highly recommend the black rice pudding! Lovely pool. Shuttle to town. (Descriptions saying nearby entrance to monkey forest are inaccurate. That entrance is closed.) But the best thing about this place is the attentiveness of the staff. They will bend over backwards to be helpful. I arrived with a mobility scooter and they actually built two ramps for me so I could access the room!

My family group of 18 booked out the 8 rooms at Alam Shanti for a week when our daughter married near Ubud. We are return visitors, but many of our family and friends staying were first time visitors to Bali, and we chose to take them to Alam Shanti because we wanted them to experience a hotel with a true Bali feel. As we expected, the warmth and hospitality of the staff, and the peaceful ambience of Alam Shanti, helped everyone have an amazing experience. All those who had never stayed at Alam Shanti before kept commenting on how wonderful the rooms and staff were. As always, the grounds were lush and manicured, the rooms large and comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious and the staff went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. They even extended their warmth and hospitality to the family members who had to stay in nearby hotels, but who visited regularly to hang out with the group. Our thanks to all of the wonderful Alam Shanti staff for helping to make our Wedding Week an unforgettable Bali experience for our family and friends.

It’s not what you might think it’s going to be..it’s better.
What sets the great accommodations apart is not just the facilities, but the people.
In this regards Alam Shanti shines.
Located in a nice area of Ubud (about 5 minutes walk from the monkey forest) it is both far from the crazyness and noise.. yet close enough to get to it.
I’m sure there are other good hotels in Ubud….but I won’t know for sure as I found my place to return to when I go back. If you want something a little different, but wonderful, give this place a try.

Seriously love coming here such an oasis , from the hustle of Denpasar. A great perspective of family community, yes it’s a hotel but more, with large spacious rooms giving you vistas from every angle quiet of the main road bout close to popular eating places .. well worth the effort for something new
