Kupu Kupu Barong Villas & Tree Spa by l'Occitane

Ubud
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The location great and near to Ubud center. The villa was so old unfortunately, there’s water coming from the bathroom selling and the smell is horrible because of old wood and humidity compilations! The bugs yes everywhere, I understand it’s in the middle of forest but there’s ants coming from the wood wall! Also the lights where so weak and depressing! The villa kind of dark ! There was a public swimming pool also, and we had private pool at our villa but it’s so cold due to no Sun ray can reach it( indoor pool) . The message really amazing with big open window front the forest! The view from the villa was phenomenal! They have one restaurant but with delicious food and clean! The gym was closed! But there’s a good news for you! They’re doing a renovation, it’ll take approximately 1 year to finish all villas! So for me I believe I’ll come back for sure after the renovation!
The Payogan Villa Resort and Spa

The price is very high. The single pool and floating breakfast are really perfect. La Alla immediately opened the vacation mode. It is really suitable for young couples to stay. The waiters at the hotel are very kind. You will be greeted to help carry your luggage when you see it. In addition, the greening of the hotel is really good and natural. I will choose this next time.
Tegal Mesari Ubud Villa

Ubud
My family and I had a great week's holiday in Ubud Bali staying at the Tegal Mesari Villa. Away from the hussle and bussle of Ubud centre. Received 5 star treatment from the Villa team Artika (cook and cleaner) and Tuya (manager). Recommend it for families and couples. Best reached by taxi or motorcycle.
Pramana Watu Kurung Resort

Ubud
I recently returned to Pramana for a second visit and it was just as impressive as the first. Tucked away in a jungle with a river view, it's a quiet, picturesque retreat, yet only a 15-20 minute drive from the bustling center of Ubud. The staff here are the real stars – always friendly, helpful, and making sure your stay is comfortable. Cleanliness is top-notch throughout the resort, from the well-kept rooms to the communal areas. Morning yoga sessions in the serene surroundings are a highlight, providing a peaceful start to the day. The spa is excellent too, offering a range of relaxing treatments in a tranquil setting. The food and drinks at the hotel were also good, every meal I had was very delicious. Hotel provides complimentary shuttle service to Ubud center, making it easy to explore the area. Ideal for couples, this place offers a romantic and secluded atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing getaway. Overall, Pramana Watu Kurung offers a wonderful blend of tranquility, comfort, and exceptional service. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful escape in Bali.

Jungle Retreat by Kupu Kupu Barong

Ubud
I was looking forward to staying in a hotel in the forest before booking. After I checked in, I found that the experience in the forest is only for villa residents. The single-room hotel is next to the villa area, not even inside the gate. The room is quite wide, but the interior decoration is old and the decoration is more Bali style, but it is not particularly accustomed to the sculpture design above the bed. Transportation is not particularly convenient, and hotel cars are particularly expensive. The price is not high. Among the many hotels in Bali, you should not stay for the second time.

More about Bali

Introduction to Bali

Bali, an Indonesian island known for its forested volcanic mountains, iconic rice paddies, and stunning beaches, is the country's most famous tourist destination. Filled with ancient temples, rich arts and crafts, and a vibrant nightlife, Bali offers a kaleidoscopic blend of natural beauty and cultural depth.

Tips for Travelling to Bali

Bali's main international gateway is Ngurah Rai International Airport, located near the capital city, Denpasar. Travelers can explore Bali through taxis, local buses, bicycles, motorbikes, or even hired cars.

The official currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Most hotels and restaurants accept credit cards, but having some cash on hand for local markets and smaller venues is recommended. Indonesian is the official language, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas.

As for visas, many nationalities can enter Indonesia visa-free for up to 30 days, but it's best to check before your journey.

Popular Attractions in Bali

Bali offers a wealth of cultural and natural attractions. Explore the ancient temples of Tanah Lot and Uluwatu, or immerse yourself in the artistic heritage of Ubud, Bali's cultural heart. Visit the Tegalalang Rice Terraces and the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary for unique experiences.

Bali's beaches are equally enticing, with Kuta Beach, Seminyak Beach, and Nusa Dua Beach offering vibrant beach life. Surfing enthusiasts will love the waves at Uluwatu and Canggu.

Weather, Best Time to Visit, and What to Wear
