Valsana Hotel Arosa

From the moment we arrived at this stunning hotel in Arosa, we were enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Nestled amidst the breathtaking Swiss Alps, the location offers unparalleled views and a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. Their hospitality was evident in every interaction, from the welcoming check-in to the thoughtful recommendations for local activities. Our room was beautifully appointed, combining modern comforts with traditional Swiss charm. The plush bedding ensured a restful night's sleep, and waking up to the panoramic mountain views was simply magical. Dining at the hotel was a highlight of our stay. The on-site restaurant offered a delectable menu that showcased local ingredients, and each meal was a culinary delight. The breakfast buffet was particularly impressive, featuring a wide array of fresh pastries, cheeses, and fruits to start the day off right. For those looking for relaxation, the hotel’s wellness center was a sanctuary. After a day of skiing or hiking, indulging in the spa treatments and unwinding in the sauna was the perfect way to recharge. Arosa itself is a charming village with plenty of outdoor activities year-round, and the hotel’s proximity to hiking trails and ski slopes made it an ideal base for our adventures. The Velsana exceeded my expectations from the reviews I had read on here. The hotel was modern, well equipped and with excellent facilities. The service was extremely good throughout. I can particularly recommend the spa and the yoga classes - amazing that so few guests took advantage of them while we were there. I would certainly recommend this hotel - it’s really excellent value for money too! 😊

The location in Arosa is good - across the lake from the Weisshorn tram. The rooms are new and comfortable, and of good size. - including the balcony The bedding was especially good. The rooms overlooking the lake are better; the views can be a bit limited otherwise. The spa is fairly nice, with an indoor pool, two saunas, a relaxation room, and a yoga room. Though there is an outdoor lounge area, there is not an outdoor pool, nor are there hot pools. The breakfast was the worst we had in Switzerland, and the dinner was not much better. After the first day we grabbed breakfast items from the coop grocery store attached to the hotel (which is very convenient for other needs as well). Instead of eating dinner at their restaurant Twist, order the fondue brought to your balcony - that was very good and worked great with a group. The food is far below the standards of the other Tschuggen group hotel, the Grand Tschuggen, which is located further up the mountain. We ended up eating there instead of Twist (an easy free bus ride). For skiing, definitely pick the Grand Tschuggen - it is worth the extra cost.

Claudio and team took excellent care of us every moment of our stay. A truly unexpected and memorable experience. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. The service at reception and restaurant is very good. Claudio himself runs a number of activities in the local area, which are also very highly recommended - we ha d agreat time picking mushrooms and trying our the baked bread experience. Pro - super attentive service fast and helpful with tips like the local bus or a nice walk - Very roomy rooms with shower & bath with big sun terrace - Nice Spa and sauna facilities good to relax after a hiking or skiing - Location: Next door is a supermarket & train station is 5 mins walk away. Small Cons - entrance of the lobby is on the first floor and during the night you have to enter in the back of the building this is a bit confusing. - Quite a lot of light switches, took us a day to learn

We spent an amazing weekend at Valsana hotel. It started with a personal welcome by the hotel manager, who was there just in time for our arrival and greeted us by name. The service was perfection throughout...The staff was friendly, helpful, they took their time with each guest. The hotel is perfectly located, overlooking the lake and mountains and just a short walk from the train station. We stayed in the junior suite, which had a wonderful view, was very spacious and had all the necessary amenities. Things we loved: cozy atmosphere, record player in the room (very nostalgic), detail-oriented design mixing modern with retro elements, private fondue on the balcony (must try that!). My only regret was not visiting the spa, but I didn't feel like having yet another covid test (which you can have done at the hotel, btw) :) Our favourite spot was the sunny terrace - great menu and service, and wonderful atmosphere. The restaurant serves a variety of vegan, vegetarian and classical dishes. Whatever your preference, you can find it here! Can't wait to be back!
