Friendly warm staff, gorgeous views, comfy stylish rooms and the best seafood, and I mean the best seafood we’ve ever had. It is a combination of factors that make this hotel so special and to top it all off Port Appin is the friendliest village and there are walks and cycle rides from the door of the hotel in some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland.

We spent 3 nights at the hotel in a cliff facing room. The room was immaculate and the room service perfect each day. The hotel says it is “seafood heaven” ….. believe them! The quality of the food and friendly service was super. Whilst I love fish my wife is vegan. Not a problem! The chefs made different vegan meals each evening. The quality was brilliant. The team throughout the hotel were friendly, fun, knowledgeable and professional. The location is sensational. Do not hesitate to book!

This is a little gem of a hotel and having heard wonderful reviews about it we were looking forward to our 2 night stay , together with friends , particularly the dining experience .Our room was very clean and comfortable and a peaceful sanctuary . We were so fortunate with the weather and settled in quickly with a pre dinner walk and drinks looking on to the most scenic view of the pier and across to Lismore all of which whetted the appetite . Oh the disappoin**ent .. I had the sole ,which arrived looking most unappetising , grey flat , literally just skin and bone with no fish ! And mine was not the only dish to disappoint . The following night , with restricted menu - food choices being unavailable on the night , three of us settled on simple fish and chips . Normally you can’t go wrong ! Again the appearance was dreadful - from what is described as a seafood restaurant ! Soggy , inedible batter , tasteless mush . The Cullen Skink was rather nice and the scallop in pastry was very pleasing with the accompanying sauce . We registered our disappoin**ent with the chef and he was most apologetic next morning . The Pierhouse should have been very special but did not showcase their potential for our stay .

This was our second stay at the Pierhouse and we were looking forward to showing it off to our friends having had such a great stay before but this time we were very disappointed! The new ( mainlyseafood) menu looked good but the grilled fish used were your cheaper types of fish..ie Coley or Witch . The witch our friend opted for was particularly unappetising and just a mass of bones. A shame because the accompanying sauces were tasty but require a good quality fish to go with them. The fish and chips we opted for on our second night were inedible as the batter used was stodgy and unpalatable and the fish not fresh. Chips were overdone. On speaking to the chef he apologised and said “the batter had not been made up that evening to his exacting standards”. Several options on the menu were available and had been substituted with something else. Sadly the shower in our bedroom didn’t function properly ( far too big a shower head for the tiny sized cubicle) as there wasn’t enough water pressure to reach it.. though we were told a plumber was due to arrive the day after we left, but really they shouldn’t rent out a room if they know there’s a problem. We addressed all our points to the appropriate staff who were very apologetic and acknowledged our concerns accordingly.

We had a special birthday lunch i April 2024, never eat there again roast dinner 2 thin slices of roast beef 1 roasted carrot and some greens which I did not recognize 2 small roast potatoes cooked in their jackets couldn't cut and not much potato inside, was very disappointed for £28 ,the back ground music was more like a funeral than a dinner party, been here many times before as my partner was born & brought up here really disappointed & would not recommend

An amazing place! We had last been 24 years ago so were anxious in case it didn't meet expectations. It exceeded them in all areas. The staff were friendly, welcoming and very knowledgable. The food was out of this world. We had dinner both nights and although I was there for the langoustine, even that was bested by the Bouillabaisse which was incredible. Thank you to everyone.

My wife and I spent a wonderful weekend at the Pierhouse celebrating our wedding anniversary. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and could not have done any more for us. The scenery was amazing, we crossed on the Ferry to Lismore and we saw two sea otters hunting by the shore just 5 minutes walk along from the jetty. We ate at the restaurant both nights and were blown away by the seafood menu. We will certainly be going back.

What a little gem!! We had a little hiccup at Check In but that was quickly sorted out by Vil, the manager on duty. Beautiful sea views over Lismore and the rugged beauty of the Morvern Peninsula, this is a lovely relaxed venue where you can sit and chat over a lovely drink or have very interesting and scenic walks before sitting down to some of the freshest and tastiest seafood that you are ever likely to experience. Some would class the rooms as small but they are beautifully furnished and totally practical with a very comfy bed!!! A place where you can while away the hours, clear your mind and recharge those rundown batteries. As Arnie would say 'I'll be back'
