The location was perfect; we parked our cars and was able to walk to our dinner location. There are plenty of shops (ice cream, Thai, etc) and an ATM within a 3minute walk. We had 8 people in our group and thus rented two rooms. The bed was comfortable but the pull-out couch bed was not. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean, no issues there. Our neighbor turned on loud music at 1am despite it being quiet hours. We tried to call the number listed in the reception area but it did not work. We eventually knocked on the door and the neighbor turned off his music. We would stay here again (minus the noisy neighbor).

Last time I was, there was before the pandemic, and it was a five star for me. I liked the view of the fjord and I like the location for stores around the area and when I wanted to go swimming, it was right across the street. On top of all that the people were really nice, and the food was fabulous! It has since been sold to a different company, so I do have no idea how it is right now! It is now 2023. , I was not allowed to change the date, so this might be a moot point.. I was not there in 2022, so I don’t know how to express on that little rectangle that I was there in 2018/2019.

I have stayed for one night as part of a tour in this hotel. This is a basic hotel with decent accommodation good enough for a stopover for the night. Dinner and breakfast were included as part of the group booking. Dinner was decent, nothing special, and nothing bad. Did the trick. Breakfast was more of chaos as the hotel seems to cater to a lot of groups and not surprisingly everyone come to eat at the same time which the dining room really cannot accommodate. It was crowded and the staff could not keep up with provisioning the food. My biggest pet peeve about this hotel (and many in Iceland) is the instance of using a shower curtain to close off the shower. But with such a small shower the curtain without fail flies into the shower into you which makes the exercise of taking a shower very frustrating. All in all, it was fine for a one-night stopover.

As others have mentioned, this hotel is a student dormitory during school term that is repuposed as a hotel during the summer. Our room was very large and furnished simply with beds, desks, chairs and kitchenette. A very good brekfast buffet was available. The location is a short walk into the town center where there are resturants and a few shops. A few things were missing from the room such as TV, facial tissue, hair conditioner, spare pillows, etc. The so-called ”bar” area was very small and uninviting. There are few other facilities. On the plus side, the wifi worked great and the room was clean and comfortable.
