Can’t speak for the bungalows as didn’t see, but if the toilets and reception are representative then…oh oh. I’m talking about the restaurant and beach. This place has lots of minuses, and I’ll come to those, but the major plus outweighs the minuses in a big way. The biggest plus is that this resort has a few amazing low, hanging trees full of bloom that cast a wonderful shade across much of the beach front. This means that you can enjoy the Sun on the loungers (new covers, staff would clean sand), the crystal sea, or if you’re looking for some shade under the trees you’ve got that in abundance (this part of the beach appears to have a narrow shorefront, that ebbs and flows with the tide, but that’s a very minor thing). This was absolutely wonderful for our three-year-old daughter who made it her playground. The beach to the east gets steadily more crowded and soon enough gets dirty the closer you are to the ferry. West it’s more huts with a few loungers. Here seems to be the optimal spot. Came here for at least part of each day for three weeks. Also almost every day turtles came up almost to the beach. The food is so so, on one day, the vegetable curry was amongst the best I’ve had, and another day it was amongst the worst. If there was any consistency to this place, it was in its inconsistency. The guys that ran, it were really nice, but also don’t expect any level of sophistication in their approach to customer service. I left my hat one day and when I came back the next it was obviously gone. Yes I had left it they all said, but none thought it wise to put it away for me when I came back. A bit pricey but less so than at more fancy places (this ain’t one!) but kind of on par for Gili T that is very dear when compared to Lombok or Bali (at least in the cheap north). Five stars for the beach, trees, and friendly staff.

According to Google Maps, it's about 10 minutes from Gili Port, but it takes 20 minutes if you avoid the passing carriages and bicycles. Never drag a suitcase and take a carriage even if you pay some money. The owner seems like a local person, but he is very kind and personable. The rooms are so-so, but I understand that Gili accommodations are generally of lower quality than Bali. However, it was a little disappointing that there was a lot of sand on the bed. The room is so-so. The advantage of this accommodation is that Turtle Beach is right in front of the accommodation, and guests can use the sunbeds for free. A huge advantage is that you can safely leave your luggage in the room and go out to the sea right in front of it without having to carry any luggage! Be sure to meet Squirtle~ Bicycle rental seems to be free, but we didn't try it because we thought we had to pay.

I’ve stayed on Gili T many times, and Gili palms resort is hands down the best value for money resort on the island. Affordable, clean, relaxing, quiet, the staff and management are very friendly and helpful to book activities etc. added bonus the stocked mini bar is same price as the shops. Highly recommend A++++

Villa Almarik is perfect. This was our second stay and it won't be our last. Perfectly located, directly on the best part of the beach in Gili Trawangan, you can swim with Turtles just a few meters from the shore. Comfortable sun loungers, restaurant on the beach, a lovely pool, great food at reasonable prices and amazing service. The resort has a lovely quiet and relaxing ambience and yet it is only a 5 minute walk to the lively part of town if you want a night out. Rooms are really big with huge comfortable beds, flat screen TV and a lovely big bathroom. The staff here are second to none. You are welcomed with a warm smile and a greeting at every opportunity and nothing is too much trouble.

This review is for the restaurant and not the actual hotel. I am only writing this review as I had a very poor experience with one of the staff members here. With that said I also had a lovely experience with another staff member which is why I still am giving four stars. I came to use the loungers at the beach. When I arrived I was greeted by a very friendly staff member who brought me a coconut from another stall as they did not have any. All was good and I decided to order food and approached another staff member for a menu. This staff member was incredibly, incredibly rude. He told me that they weren’t serving food only drinks (I saw others had food). He then asked “if I am stupid and do I not understand English” when I questioned why I couldn’t receive a menu and stormed away. The original friendly staff member then brought me a menu; however, I choose to leave and eat somewhere else as I was so so out off by the rude male staff member. I work in hotels in hospitality and it was shocking to be spoken to this way by a hotel staff member. This individual should not be working in hospitality. I wish I got names so the friendly staff member could be credited while the rude one could be identified by management.

Melati was great! The people are beautiful & very helpful. They have the best fresh coconuts which they keep cold in the fridge. The breakfast included is simple but yummy. The bungalows are simple but clean & very comfortable. We were able to rent bikes through them for a reasonable price & they were happy for us to keep them the whole time & pay at the end. Location wise they are further up the main road with a lovely section of beach where they have their sun chairs & snorkeling gear available. You can’t see the bungalows from the road as they are back behind the little shopfront & a space where there is some building happening- but there was no noise to worry about. Just keep an eye out for the Melati sign when you arrive, as it is not a big sign.

This is a great place to stay in Gilly It wasn't a stylish and neatly decorated hostel. Cleanliness is good and the room should be local in Bali The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is good. I want to boil ramen in the middle. I want to boil it in the kitchen. It was good to tell the housewares It's a little far from the main street. Turtle point is right in front of you!

We are a family with 2 teenagers, 1 being a vegetarian. Food at Jali is simply delicious, even with the slightly limited options due to covid. The cakes are as divine as always and the mix of thai, malaysian, sumatran curries as well usual vietnamese and thai fare, just keep us coming back. Rooms are still very well maintained comfy beds good ac and fan all next to the pool. staff are genuinely amazing, friendly and helpful to a fault. bikes are free and well maintained. We very highly recommend and will be back ... oh breakfasts have a wide range of foid and are also a large part of why we come back!

First time I've been to Gili T. It's at the end of the main street, so it's not too noisy and the location is great. The two swimming pools are nice, the landscaping is pretty, and it's very well maintained. The exchange office in front of Biro also has a bad rate. It was nice that the dive shop right next door was also available. However, the bed was creaky and the mattress was worn out. It would be nice to replace it with a memory foam mattress such as Zinus. There is an intention to revisit.

This hotel was ok however I would not return. The first room given to me had a generator on the window outside which was very loud and vibrating the room. I asked to change rooms and the woman at the desk told me there was none left and didn’t even check. I asked for a refund and was then told I can’t get one but there is one more room available. This was at the front and can be very noisy. I found the woman very rude to deal with and didn’t seem to care. On Tuesdays the hotel next door has a party so don’t expect to sleep until 3:30 am. Room was fine. At breakfast there were ants all over the bread in the basket. I wouldnt recommend this place and couldn’t wait to leave.

My hotel where I am staying on Gili Trawangan was busy, so I decided to temporarily stay in this one. I wanted a room on the second floor, but these buildings are closed. Currently only cottage rooms are available. The rooms are very large. The furniture, like everywhere else in Indonesia, is old, but has been redecorated. I was especially pleased with the outdoor bathroom... it was clean, with new fixtures and snow-white towels. The staff is nice and friendly. The pool is large, clean and with sea water. In previous comments, visitors complained about the breakfast. The most ordinary breakfast, there is everything you need, omelet, vegetables, fruits, pastries, juices. The biggest disadvantage is that you cannot swim in the ocean here. But this is a phenomenon in all hotels on this side of the island. Another disadvantage is that there are few sockets in the room and they are located behind the bed or behind the TV. Overall the hotel left a pleasant impression.

The location of the hotel is very good, and it is also close to the pier. It is only five minutes away by a carriage. The work of the hotel is also nice and welcoming. Basically there is responsiveness. The meals at the hotel are also delicious. Yes, especially a chicken rice. I ate for three days in a row. Picture 1 and Picture 2 are photos of the hotel. Picture 3 is at the hotel bar. I ordered Long Island Iced Tea. Picture 4 was arranged by the hotel manager. For breakfast, you can use various concave shapes to take pictures in the pool. Picture 5 and Picture 6 are photos that will be taken again. I like everything here ~

Myself and a friend stayed at this accommodation for one week (2 different rooms) and had an amazing time; beautiful facilities, helpful staff and great summer vibes. After one week, we left the accommodation (after we settled all our payments, of course) and I returned two days later (we stayed at another island for a couple of nights) for a few more days on Gili Trawangan by myself; that's when the poor management reared its ugly head! I requested to book for 3 more days (remember; after having paid for 7 days for TWO rooms) and due to a POS machine issue (that I later found out, most other vendors on the island know about: Mandiri Bank POS machines don't 'play well' with the UK's HSBC bank cards) the amount for 3 days was seized from my account 3 TIMES OVER (cause the member of staff tried 3 times), yet WITHOUT the amount appearing in the vendor's account. I was extremely polite about it, saying that I will be withdrawing some money in cash and paying that way, but that's when the harassment began... and I don't use the word harassment lightly! For the next 20 hours, every single member of staff would ask me ”Have you taken money out?” at every sight of me, culminating at the event that made me leave the accommodation: The following day, the ”manager” came to my room at the middle of the day, whilst I was enjoying a cocktail, and told me I have to pay if I want to stay at the accommodation... after having paid for 14 nights, only one day into my 3 day additional stay and after their POS machine charged my account 3 TIMES the amount of my 3 day stay already! This, when combined with unprofessional behaviour by the manager, repeating the same sentence again and again as if I were stupid - ”it's not out fault!” wait... is it mine? - managed to ruin one of my limited days of vacation on the island as I had to pack my stuff and roam the streets with all my luggage in search of another suitable accommodation, under the heat of the Indonesian sun at midday, cause the manager refused to allow me to pay ”when it's certain that the previous 3 attempt at payment were indeed unsuccessful”.

Our experience at Scallywags on Gili T was truly outstanding from start to finish. From our early arrival at around 11:00, we were warmly welcomed with a refreshing cold towel – a small but delightful touch. What's more, we received a welcome drink and were pleasantly surprised to be shown to our room at 12:00, a whole three hours ahead of the standard 15:00 check-in time. Our room was impeccably clean and well-appointed with everything we could possibly need, from bathrobes to a selection of toiletries, a hairdryer, and even tea and coffee supplies. If you found yourself in need of anything extra, the reception had various items for sale, including bug spray and other merchandise. In our room, we discovered a generous supply of drinking water in a dispenser and the fridge stocked with carafes of cold water. The bed was not only spacious but also incredibly comfortable, and the sound insulation ensured a peaceful night's rest. One of the highlights of the hotel was its secluded pool area. It was meticulously maintained, with frequent cleaning and proper chlorine levels. There were plenty of sunbeds, tables, and chairs available, and they even offered complimentary towel rentals for hotel guests. Scallywags also boasted an on-site restaurant and a separate grill restaurant, both usually bustling with activity. We had the pleasure of trying the grill, and it did not disappoint. The buffet salad bar was a standout feature. Additionally, the hotel had an attached spa with a diverse range of reasonably priced treatments, although we regrettably didn't get a chance to experience them. As our stay drew to a close, we mentioned our plans to visit Scallywags Resort on Gili Air to the receptionist, Rizal. He went above and beyond by organising our transfer there! Rizal's helpfulness was truly appreciated and exemplified the exceptional service we received throughout our stay!

First of all, the hotel is less than two kilometers from the pier, you can take a 150k carriage ride, the location is not bad, go out to the beach, (but most hotels in Geely are like this), the spa is very cheap at 50%, the hotel public area is very good , suitable for taking pictures, this is a lot of places. Secondly, the hotel has a lot of places to spit. The hotel is relatively small in size, and there are some emmmmm in the house...the original? There are many bugs in the bathroom, and a frog crawls under my feet when taking a bath. The sofa was very dirty and damp, and we didn't even cover the sheets! It was the feeling of winter... Then we had a magnitude 6.6 earthquake on the first day of the first day, the house was trembling, the door was very old, and it was so horrible. There is no window in the house. Although you can't see the sea in the house, you can hear the huge sound of the waves, and when the waves are big, the house will tremble violently. It feels very weak! The second day of the earthquake shocked almost one night, a few waves, and the signal of the whole island was not good. The wifi of the hotel was particularly bad. There were only one or two grids, often broken, and it felt very desperate in this environment. The experience is not good.

The location is really good for the purpose of seeing turtles! The staff who smile every time I go back and forth are nice. It's good to have breakfast at a low price. However, the wetness and quality of the hostel itself are a bit unfortunate. The hotel pool is a bit bad to use It's okay to sleep and snorkel, but... It would be nice to give me more money and go somewhere else.
