The housekeeper is very nice. The boss I happened to meet was the boss wife. In the morning, they drove us to the pier. There is also breakfast. Really great value for money. I changed 3 hotels in 7 days in Sabah, and this one is the most comfortable and cleanest. Same as my own home.

Opposite 7 inn there is Basar malam, a Mcdonald, a cafe opposite and a gas station with mini mart, living here is convenient. However it’s a bit far to the harbour by 1km. So, they provide free transport to any potion of the town area, just WhatsApp the driver and he always turn up to pick up us on time! We called at least 5 times of pick up service as considering 7 inn was around 1km from harbour that every excursion starts so by walking it will be 10-15 mins. The container room is spacious with a lovely balcony with 2 chairs. Shared toilet and shower is located at each storey and with like 3 showers and 3 WCs. Bed is spacious and with good pillow and mattress always make me fall asleep easily. In general, I do appreciate 7 inn although I did not encounter many tourists during my stay due to Covid and the entire semporna looks still not yet recovered to before. By the way, 7 inn do not provide drying cloth service but they will send you to a nearby laundry to do washing and drying if you need it. This is very important as our clothes are unable to dry up during our entire stay although 2 of the 4 days are sunny day…

First, let’s talk about the supporting facilities: the hotel has 4 floors in total and is relatively newly decorated. The first floor is the reception hall with an elegant rest area. There will be staff to open the door to greet you warmly and help you carry your luggage. Next door is a cafe and dining room with an elegant environment. The area is also open to the outside world. There are guest rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors. There are many rooms. Our 300-per-night double room with breakfast for two also comes with a single bed. It has a lot of space and a long table, which is great for putting things. It has a hairdryer and a clothes drying rack. The room faces the sea and has a balcony. The fourth floor is the breakfast room, which has a rich variety and good air conditioning. It has Chinese and Western styles, which are very suitable for Chinese tastes. There is also fried rice noodles, where you can eat while looking at the sea view.
Transportation: It is very close to the pier, about 600 meters on foot. Even if there is no car to pick up and drop off at sea, it only takes a few minutes to walk there. The only disadvantage of this hotel is that it faces the street and is noisy with cars coming and going. However, most hotels in Semporna and Sabah are facing the street and will be noisy. Breakfast selection ok , we joined the day trip tour by this hotel , rm263 per person for 2 days island hopping which is mabul & kapalai, the other day is bohey dulang , mantabuan island and sibuan island , the tour guides cum divers were helpful which was udin and nasim, the other day guide hutam was good 👍🏻 except one janggut guide was so into himself traveling and never really take care of us . So depends on which guide you have on your boat to take you around for day trip .. overall ok for 3 nights stay , got elevator , water bottle , travel shampoo

Our ride never showed up even after my wife confirmed with the hotel staff. Called them and not one response after several calls. Great way to confirm everything and then leave your customers high and dry. We ended getting our own ride. Ocean Inn hotel is situated in a what I would consider a more or less slum area. I saw multiple locals finish their drinks and then tossed their trash over into the sea when there’s garbage cans just a few feet from them. There’s a lot of garbage sunken and floating in the water everywhere. Countless rats scurrying on the ground and roofs in broad daylight. The area reeks of sewage. When we checked in, the gal in the front didn’t like her job. No greetings. No smiles. No friendly service. Not sure if it’s a cultural thing that I’m misunderstanding. I felt like she didn’t want to help us. Never did. The entrance of the front desk had an overwhelming smell of mothball. In our room, my wife found strands of hair between the sheets and blanket. The room smelled mildewy. The restroom smelled like a heavily used public restroom. The shower pressure trickled. I just don’t know how some of these reviewers gave this place a 3-5 stars. Absolutely baffled!!! Overall, there’s little nice things to say about Ocean Inn except that the AC works well. I’ll let you readers run wild with your own imagination that I’m painting. I would never come back here again. Thank goodness it was just for one night stay.

Even though the rooms consist of a bed and very little else, the beds were comfy and the AC worked wonders. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly; they helped us book taxis and the island trips. Breakfast includes toast with tea or coffee, free of charge. Noise is a problem, whether it is from building work or the noise of other guests; I strongly advise bringing earplugs. Semporna is a simply awful, poverty-stricken small coastal town but this hotel was a nice, albeit temporary, respite away from the madness outside.
