Komodo Lodge

We stayed in this hotel for one night either side of our Liveaboard trip (so two nights). It’s cheap and extremely accessible for the port, so idea if you just want somewhere to sleep either side. However, the basic and superior rooms are almost entirely two different hotels. We initially booked basic, as the pictures looked fine, but these rooms were terrible. Incredibly small and dark, filled with mosquitos, shower didn’t work properly and the room was incredibly loud at night and right until the early hours because of the strangest disco which seemed to only have like 4 people in attendance but still played all night. After complaining about our room and asking to be moved to the new building for the second night of our stay (when we returned from our Liveaboard), where all the rooms were the superior ones, it was like a completely different hotel. Room was much nicer and all the issues were resolved. The price difference between the two was only small, so just don’t even consider staying unless you book the superior room. Breakfast was fine, fairly basic and nothing to get excited about, but good enough. Music over breakfast was strangely loud though.

Flamingo Avia Labuan Bajo

We booked only for one night in this hotel because we were thinking to to the overnight on a boat afterwards. The location was so great, the view amazing, but it was not the first option. The cleaning was not good, the sheets were stained (we complained and the staff said we could change room, even though it was the same), the toilet was too basic and it felt old and rusty. The breakfast on the roof top was ok, the view was breathtaking!

We got an upgrade to the suite and it was amazing. Great view, nice food and really accommodating, friendly staff. They also arranged a driver for the day for us, and our D much appreciated.

A budget friendly new hotel in a strategic location. 10 minutes drive from the airport, walking distance to the port and the marina. Rooms may be small, but cozy, clean and comfortable. Good hospitality. Staffs are friendly and helpful. The La Bajo cafe on the 2nd floor serves nice simple meals, good coffee and snacks with great view of the harbour. Overall, really enjoyed the stay
TA’AKTANA, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Labuan Bajo

Nestled in a world of unparalleled luxury and tranquility, this resort offers an experience like no other. We were upgraded to a villa with a private pool and breathtaking sea views, which we considered one of the most serene and idyllic places on Earth. Beyond the Komodo National Park, the resort boasts an array of exciting activities and amenities. Organized snorkeling tours, yoga sessions, and cultural education programs cater to all interests. The resort features an Olympic-sized pool, multiple lounge pools, a state-of-the-art gym, and a fantastic spa with both hot and cold plunge pools. The resort also boasted several unique features, including a serene library, a coffee roastery, and a daily sunset ceremony (the sunsets were simply breathtaking). The culinary scene at the resort is equally impressive, with multiple restaurants serving delectable dishes. The breakfast restaurant stands out as particularly exceptional. The jetty at the resort is a sight to behold. We were fortunate enough to encounter turtles daily and embarked on snorkeling adventures and paddle boarding excursions in the bay every evening. As a private area, the resort exudes an unparalleled level of quiet and luxury. The staff is truly exceptional, with everyone knowing our names and going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Our butler, Rico, was particularly remarkable, providing attentive service and anticipating our every need. For morning tours that depart at 6 a.m., the resort kindly provided a takeaway bag of breakfast, ensuring we had a nourishing start to our day. To top it all off, the resort organized complimentary airport transfers, ensuring a smooth and convenient arrival. We were escorted to our transportation from the aero bridge, an experience that was very unique and cool. We highly recommend this resort to anyone in the area and would eagerly return for another unforgettable experience.
