Naeba Prince Hotel
4.2/5324 Reviews
Our trip to Naeba was seamless. We booked our shinkansen ticket online, so we know what time we need to be at Tokyo Station. Prior to our trip, I've booked online via the hotel website their free shuttle. As I know that we would arrive at Echigo-Yuzawa slightly before 1pm and would not make it for the 1pm shuttle, I booked 1 hour later. No worries about spending time at the station, as they are stalls and shop to look around. At 2 p.m., the shuttle bus was there, and they took our names and helped with our luggage. Although it was early in the winter season, there were quite a few number of visitors on the same bus. The bus ride is about 40 minutes. Once at the hotel, we checked in and got our keys for our room in Building 2. As the ski lift closes at 5pm, we did not plan to ski until the next day. TIPS: This would be the best time to book 1 Day Ski passes online in advance (can not same day) as you save 1,000 yen per ticket. QR Code is available on the pamphlet given by reception or at the ticket collect machine area at Buiding 3. We booked a room for 4 people, 2 on bed and 2 on the sofa bed. The space was sufficient for us, albeit have to take turns to open luggage. Resort guest also are given 1 locker per room to store your ski gears. So it was easy for us to come in the morning to retrieve our gear and head out to the snow. As this is an old resort, do not expect modern furnishing, but it has what a hotel should have and we'll maintain in terms of cleanliness. It was still early in the season (we stayed 17-20 Dec), so restaurant selection is quite limited as most are only opening after 20th Dec. On the first day, one will need to spend some time at the ski rental store as everyone queue for their gear.

Awesome hot spring hotel! As soon as you enter the hotel, you have to take off your shoes and put your luggage on the ”luggage trolley” to avoid getting dirty on the ground. I like this arrangement very much, great! The hotel staff are very polite and kind, especially the aunt who is responsible for serving soup and rice at breakfast. She is very cute! At this price, you can’t find any faults in this hotel. It doesn’t cost HK$2,000 a night, so it’s really great value for money! I couldn't bear to stay here for eight nights. I will definitely stay there again next year!
Hotel Okura Niigata

I visited Niigata on business, but since I was there, I decided to stay at a good hotel. I was very satisfied with the attentive service of the hotel staff as a third place. The breakfast was rich in variety and colorful. I was able to enjoy local ingredients and it was delicious. It was also very interesting to see the chef skillfully prepare the omelettes in front of me. I also enjoyed comparing the two types of rice. The room had a calm atmosphere with a sense of history, and the walls were not thin so that you could hear the noise from next door, which was nice. There is just one thing that I think could be improved, and it may be difficult, but it is the dirt on the outside of the window in the room. I think it would be difficult to wipe the window, but I think it would make it even more enjoyable to enjoy the beautiful view. I will use this hotel again when I visit Niigata.

Echigo No Oyado Inamoto

Good location, near Echigo Yuzawa station. No hotel shuttle bus to the ski resort (GALA), which is a little bit disappointing, as we tried another hotel that offers a free pick-up/drop-off service. Food was normal, it didn't really suit my taste preferences though. I enjoyed that pork miso soup the most. The women's outdoor onsen was meh; it wasn't even warm and had dirt in it. Everyone there, including me, only spent a minute and came back lol Indoor one was fine. There was only one intern at the reception, and while he was helpful and nice (thank you), he wasn't very familiar with the hotel information and procedures. Perhaps it would be a good idea to assign a senior staff member to work alongside him and provide OTJ training, rather than relying solely on intern.

Travelled here with 2 toddlers and the place is fantastic. We took the room with the open air bath for them to enjoy and it comes with our very own one backyard of snow! The kids were playing in the snow and jumping jn the Bathtub after. The hotsprings are fantastic , they have a huge variety and they switch the female and males after every few hours so you will enjoy diff type of hotsprings.. they even had a tea hotspring where they full up the tub with tea leaves. The amenities provided is great, you literally do not need to bring any of yours, everything is provided, even pajamas. The skii resorts are convenient to get too and when you reach echiga Station, you can ask the tourist centre to call the Hotel for a pick up
Niigata Daiichi Hotel
4.2/5135 Reviews
The location is very good, less than 3 minutes from Niigata Station. There are many restaurants, bars, and sushi restaurants nearby. The hotel room is very comfortable and the large sofa is great for single rooms. However, the air conditioning is central, so the temperature cannot be adjusted and the room was very cold, so my body got cold. The large public bath is small but satisfactory, but it would be great if there was a sauna. There is a manga cafe on the 3rd floor. I did not eat the hotel breakfast, but it seems to have a very good reputation, so if you have an appetite in the morning, why not go? There is a Lawson convenience store directly connected to the hotel, so there is no problem.
Naspa New Otani

Japanese tatami, the room staff will come to make the bed at night, and the action is very fast. The room view is very good, and it is very convenient to go downstairs to ski. Please note that this ski resort is for double boards, and single board friends can choose other ski resorts. It is very suitable for bringing children. There is a restaurant downstairs, which is simple and convenient. You can also choose to eat in the town below. Remember to make an appointment in advance, whether it is dining or taking a taxi.
Hotel Nikko Niigata
4.6/5159 Reviews
Hotel Nikko Niigata Take bus No. 17 from Niigata Station for 260 yen to Niigata Nikko Hotel in Tokimi. The guest rooms are from the 22nd to the 29th floor. I lived on the 27th floor with a wide view. There are supermarkets, restaurants, etc. on the second floor of the hotel, and there is an exhibition hall on the fifth floor. , it happened to be an Egyptian art exhibition. Although the hotel room was small, it was clean and refreshing, and the overall feeling was very comfortable. It was only 1.5 kilometers away from Niigata Station, which was a bit far to walk. But despite its flaws, this hotel is still pretty good!

The room is spacious, with bright windows, not far from the station. The breakfast is very delicious, very quiet, and the scenery outside the window is very good. The staff has a good service attitude, thoughtful and enthusiastic.
