It’s very close to famous Yongkang Road with many Coffeeshops and restaurants, favorite spot for youngest Shanghainese. Yongkang road in Shanghai is a popular destination for cafes of food. 56 Rue is small and unique with a clothing selection at the back of the cafe. I was worried that my favorite local value for money Japanese joint would be another victim in the long list of places lost to us due to the great shanghai lockdown (that never happened). What they got? Not gonna lie, it’s all your basic go to Japanese. Sushi rolls, sashimi, katsu curry, octopus ball etc. But, it’s is true value for money, reliable, comfortable, convenient and always has a cold beer ready to clench your thirst.
