Graffiti Street | Chongqing's new business card and landmark, the old street has become youthful and vibrant
In the Huangjueping District of Jiulongpo District, Chongqing City, there is a graffiti art street that starts from Huangjueping Railway Hospital and ends at 501 Art Warehouse, with a total length of 1.25 kilometers and a total area of about 50,000 square meters. It is promoted as the world's longest graffiti street and has become a new business card and landmark of Chongqing, the fashion capital.
If you come to Chongqing for business or travel during the Mid-Autumn National Day holiday, it is recommended that you visit Graffiti Street. It is full of artistic atmosphere, with few people and beautiful scenery. The photos taken are all artistic masterpieces.
Huangjueping is an old community. In order to change the appearance of the community, under the direct leadership of the Chongqing Creative Office, the Jiulongpo District Government and the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts jointly created a large-scale cultural and creative industry project with the creative idea of Luo Zhongli, the dean of the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts.
Huangjueping Graffiti Art Street is located on Huangjueping Street. The street is on the left side of the main entrance of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts. After 150 days of careful production by more than 800 workers, students and artists, a total of 37 graffiti buildings were created, 1.25 kilometers of roads were widened and renovated, about 9,000 meters of various underground pipelines were laid, 2,700 square meters of dangerous buildings were demolished and rebuilt, and 20 small sculptures were set up. The entire street has undergone significant changes, and the old streets have immediately become new and vibrant.
Graffiti Street is divided into viewing areas and graffiti experience areas. If you need to experience the fun of graffiti, please go to the 501 Art Glass, Rabbit Building, and Big Fleet 3 free graffiti areas for experience.
There is also a Traffic Teahouse in the block, which maintains the style of the 1980s and exudes a simple and ancient charm. This teahouse was once the filming location of the movie 'Crazy Stone' and the variety show 'Extreme Challenge'.
📍Address: Near No. 88, Huangjueping Main Street, Jiulongpo District, Chongqing City
🚗Transportation: You can take bus 411, 823, subway line 2, etc.
I loved this place. it’s colourful, creative and the locals are friendly. It’s packed with excellent juice bars and in the 43C heat today the shade, breeze and art were a perfect way to spend the morning. Dont be afraid to go down the side alleys and look closely on the walls for the hidden gems.
🌟 Highlights: Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts (Huangjuanping Campus) was founded in 1940 and has a long history. For historical reasons, the school has been located in Chongqing and there are two existing campuses, which are relatively old. The campus is full of art, interesting graffiti everywhere, and creative transformation of old things. There are more graffiti at the entrance of the school. There are large creative paintings on the surface of the buildings along the street. There are also several walls at the entrance of the school that overlap and spray a lot of color paintings. Some are students' works, and some are tourists who come by hand. It is very interesting and suitable for punching in and taking pictures. 📝 Note tips: Recently, due to the impact of the epidemic, the university campus can't get in, so I can only look at the graffiti street, which is a pity.
In this art street, you can still add more things, and although the traffic is not particularly convenient, but you can find some things you want to eat here, hot pot is also a lot here.
Chongqing's Huangjuanping Graffiti Street, similar to Australia's Melbourne Graffiti Street, the United States of Los Angeles' Pink Wall, Malaysia's Penang, every wall on the street is a different scenery, as if to come to the fairy tale world.
Many people like to come here, because you can see the good three-story beauty, and especially many people like to come here in a place where graffiti is painted. There are still more things to eat here, and you can eat while shopping.
