Enjoy a 2-hour easy tour of the Grand Palace in Thailand
The historical sites in Thailand are not numerous, and a visit to the Grand Palace + Wat Phra Kaew is almost unavoidable for a first-time visit to Thailand. If you want to enjoy the iconic sights of Thailand without getting too tired, follow my one-day laid-back itinerary.
🌈Price: First, understand your own needs. If you just want to tour and take photos by yourself, you can buy tickets online or on-site for 500🐖 per person. If you're interested in history and want a guided explanation, I recommend two options.
There are many Chinese-speaking guides at the entrance of the Grand Palace, charging 600 Thai baht per hour, providing one-on-one explanation services. If you want to save time and effort, I recommend purchasing the Grand Palace ticket + Chinese guide explanation on an online travel app, which is about 150 yuan per person, very convenient.
🌈Tour: Because I'm quite lazy and wanted to hear the explanation of the Grand Palace, I chose the online package without hesitation. After confirming the order, I checked in at the entrance of the Grand Palace at 10 am and entered with the guide.
The first spot is the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, which houses Thailand's national treasure. The Emerald Buddha has three robes, which the King of Thailand personally changes during the seasonal transitions. The robes are made of pure gold, incredibly lavish. The exterior walls of the Temple of the Emerald Buddha have the world's longest mural, depicting the story of the Indian monkey god defeating demons, which is very interesting to listen to.
⚠Note: Photography and video recording are not allowed inside the palace of the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and if you want to go to the front, you must kneel down, standing is not allowed. Of course, if you're not religious, you can stand on the periphery to observe, just maintain respect.
The second spot is the Grand Palace, the symbol of the Bangkok dynasty, equivalent to Beijing's Forbidden City. The architecture here is also quite eclectic, blending Thai and European styles, among others. Overall, it looks very splendid and magnificent. The guide explained that Bangkok is known as the 'City of Angels,' and the Grand Palace is the 'Heavenly Palace.' The blue skies of Thailand shining on the luxurious and dazzling buildings of the Grand Palace indeed make it feel like a 'Heavenly Palace' on-site, which is quite impressive.
The Grand Palace is still the place where heads of state are received, and it is also where the king's coronation and court celebrations take place.
⏰Tour Time: About 2 hours
Grand Palace is an absolute must visit - a staple of Bangkok! Like you can't have bread without butter, you can't visit Bangkok and not the Grand Palace!!

The Grand Palace Scenic Area can be said to be the top of the list for Thai tourism. I booked the Grand Palace + Zhengwang Temple double attraction tickets + explanation on Trip.com. The tour guide is a local Thai, but the Chinese is very good. The weather was very hot on the day of the visit, sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, umbrellas, water were all essentials. Because it is a popular attraction, there are many tourists visiting. After the collection of tickets, the first entry is the Jade Buddha Temple. The architecture of the Jade Buddha Temple is very Thai. Thailand is a Buddhist country. The importance of Buddhism is very high. The buildings are magnificent. Listening to the tour guide explaining the gold and silver jewelry spent on the appearance of the building is countless. The tour guide talked about the history of the king of Thailand for a long time, about the association of the Jade Buddha Temple and the royal family of successive generations, and then visited freely. The Buddha Hall in the center of the Jade Buddha Temple is to take off your shoes and enter, and photographs are prohibited inside. The interior walls of the Buddha Hall are covered with murals, very beautiful, and the tourists who come in sit quietly and feel quiet. After leaving the Jade Buddha Temple, walk into the Grand Palace. The Grand Palace Park is a bit like the presidential palace of a modern country. There is a large open space in the manor, and the center is a luxurious mansion. For some historical reasons, the current Thai king is no longer living in the Grand Palace, which is used as a reception place for meetings with foreign heads of state. The temple of Zhengwang and the Grand Palace are separated by a river in the south of the river. Buy a ticket from the pier and upload it in about five minutes to the other side of the river. The landing is the Zhengwang Temple Scenic Area. Zhengwang Temple is a temple established in memory of the Thai national hero Zheng Zhao, and it is also one of the must-check-in attractions in Bangkok. Zhengwang Temple and Jade Buddha Temple compared to the style is obviously different, the main body is stone architecture, the color is not so magnificent, but the appearance decoration is still very beautiful.
It is still possible to take pictures to understand the following historical developments and the place itself is not big.

The Grand Palace in Bangkok, Thailand. This palace has been the official residence of the Kings of Siam since 1782. I found it interesting to learn that Thailand was called Siam until 1939. This palace is very detailed. It’s amazing how many people walk through this beautiful setting on a daily basis.
When you come to Bangkok, Thailand, you must come to a good place to check in. It is a blockbuster film, and it is also a check-in point for the circle of friends. It is recommended that you come earlier, not so hot 😅😅😅
