Chaer Lake Tourist Area, also known as Friendship Reservoir by locals, was built in 1958 and is only 15 kilometers away from Xinghe County. The mountains in the tourist area belong to the Daqing Mountains, and the water surface is surrounded by mountains. Chaer Lake belongs to the Yongding River system of the Haihe River Basin and the upper reaches of the Dongyang River, a tributary of the Yanghe River.
