I'm going to miss my yearly visit to this little paradise. I'll miss my Wreck Beach friends and my doses of nudity, that keeps my free spirit afloat. See you next time!
Back in the sixties this beach was famous because it was one of North America's few nudist beaches. It is harder to get to than Vancouver's other beaches so it is less busy.
don't want to sunbath, go for a winter walk, beach makes for a great winter walk, great views of the north shore mountains and opportuntiy to view local wildlife
Discovered this beach while exploring the Campus of the University of British Columbia. There are many stairs that lead down to the beach. The stairs weave it’s away through forest. The beach itsel...
Wreck Beach in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada is a picturesque and exquisite place to spend an excursion. The quiet sandy shorelines and the energetic summer winds are the ideal blend to spend the day drenching up the sun or getting a charge out of the waves for nearly anybody searching for a decent time. At the point when the sun goes down, there are a lot of private eateries and chill nightclubs in the encompassing territories also. One reason Wreck Beach emerges such a great amount from others is that it is a dress discretionary shoreline, making for a youthful and hip vibe contrasted with the ordinary relaxing shorelines.

Well worth the trek out all the way out to Wreck! I've been saying for years that Wreck is the happiest place in the world! Wreck is not for the modest however: while there are varying degrees of nudity, it is first and foremost a nude beach. If you're comfortable with this, please do yourself a favour and check out Wreck! Vancouver's most eclectic flock to Wreck's pristine shores each day as soon as temperatures allow: hula hoopers and skim boarders litter the shore, hot dog stands pepper the tree line, and in between people of all walks of life laugh and chat and enjoy the sun of Vancouver's best beach.
There’s something for everyone in Vancouver, and Wreck Beach is the perfect spot for those who prefer to wear their birthday suit. More than just a nude beach, this section of Spirit Park is also part of the University of British Columbia Endowment Lands and the Westward facing point offers stunning views of the Gulf Islands and Vancouver Island.Note that beach access is via a very long staircase fashioned of wood and mud, so this may not be the best option if you’ve got shaky knees.
Wreck Beach is Vancouver's only nude beach. It's also the nicest beach in all of the lower mainland. If you aren't put off by nudity make sure you check out this gem. The vibe is easy going and its always a few degrees hotter on this beach as its tucked away into a cove. While you're there try one of the fresh coconuts, bbq, and pick up a cool hippy blanket from one of the beach shops!*note: you do not need to be naked to be on the beach, just know that you will see naked people.
Like most beaches in Vancouver, it's got stunning views of the nearby mountains. But this particular beach is clothing optional, so I wouldn't necessarily bring your little ones here unless you want to see naked old hippies.
