Old Westbury Gardens Review

The old Wesbury estate is the home of financier John Jay Shaver Phipps (1874-1958) and his wife and four children. Mr. Phipps is the son of Henry Phipps, a partner at Carnegie Steel and a prominent philanthropist, and his wife's father is a partner at Glass Shipping. The garden-style manor was designed by London architect George Abraham Clary after the couple married.

The European-style castle-style manor house, which has been a hundred years old, is a real mansion.

An Italian-style century-old courtyard has now become a famous landscape on Long Island. Adults come here to play with their children on weekends. Concerts, family-themed activities, and children's play projects are all very fun.
