Kunshan is the hometown of ancient bricks and tiles in China, and Jinxi is the hometown of ancient bricks and tiles in Kunshan. As early as the Western Jin Dynasty, Jinxi had a tradition of making bricks and firing kilns. In the early 1980s, the Kunshan Dadong Brick and Tile Factory built an ancient brick and tile exhibition hall with a collection of more than 800 exhibits. After its opening, it attracted the attention of domestic and foreign experts and scholars. In 1996, the site was relocated and expanded, and the exhibits were enriched. The name of the museum was changed to the Chinese Ancient Bricks and Tiles Museum, which is a museum with bricks and tiles as the theme. Now walking into the new site of Ding Zhai, more than 1,000 pieces of brick and tile treasures with artistic charm and historical value are displayed in the museum, just like reading a vast historical scroll of China for five thousand years.
