The Arboretum of South China Agricultural University is located in Changgang Mountain of South China Agricultural University, covering an area of 24 hectares. The Arboretum is divided into 6 functional areas, including the introduction experimental area, the tree classification area, the afforestation experimental area, the breeding experimental area, the ecological restoration area and the aquatic plant area. It mainly consists of tree species, rare and endangered plants, economic plants, garden plants, shade plants and aquatic plants. 62 species of endangered plants have been introduced and planted, including the golden camellia, known as the "giant panda" of the plant kingdom, and the cypress, the "king of ferns", which are under national first-class protection. There are 36 species of national tertiary protected plants, such as daffodil and white osmanthus, and 4 species of southern yew are protected in Guangdong Province. In addition, a large number of precious wood species, aromatic plants, medicinal plants, woody oil plants, woody food plants, fruit trees and ornamental plants have been introduced into the park.
