EErlingsan: Perfect base to visit the castles in the Loire Valley. The receptionist was very helpful and accommodating. Just be reminded that 12:00-14:00 and after 20:00 there is no reception, so try to arrange the check in afternoon. The room was spacious, had fridge, stove, basic cutlery, glasses, pans. And the best point: location 7 minutes from Tours station and Carrefour city.

RRaskolnikov214: The perfect hotel for visiting different chateaux close to Tours. If you have lots of train travel like we did, stay here. Spacious room, very funky design —our room had a private “cinema” in the room, fabulous breakfast and very friendly staff. The only addition that we would have liked is a kettle in the room and perhaps a bit more amenities like conditioner and cotton buds etc. All in all, a great stay!

Ccuiyingli: The hotel service is very good, small and exquisite. You can make your own orange juice and boil soft-boiled eggs in the morning, which is great. The room is the same as the official website photo. The mattress is comfortable, the bed is made every day, and croissants and lemonade are placed in the lobby in the afternoon. If you come back hungry, you can eat one or two first. The only thing is that the wash basin is slow to drain.

The autumn river valley on the prairie is like nature spilled its palette 🎨 Birch forests and autumn leaves weave together in a tapestry of gold and red Sunlight spills lazily across the green grass ☀️ As if coating the earth in a gentle glow Encountering a herd of cows coming home from "school" on the path 🐄 They stroll along slowly As if time itself has slowed down in this world ✨ In the distance, the forests are painted in layers The overlapping gradients are impossible to look away from The outlines of the distant mountains have also become exceptionally soft Walking slowly along the lakeshore A little girl strolls through the park 🚶♀️ Watching her step on fallen leaves and hearing the crisp crunch Autumn should be just like this It has a healing quality that is addictive 🍂 The wind here is gentle Every frame looks like a high-definition wallpaper Quiet and vast Yet capable of healing a whole year's worth of fatigue 💫 I just want to be in this autumn scenery And waste time on beautiful things

The Loire Valley is honestly one of the DREAMIEST places ever for a chill getaway—imagine cycling through a real-life fairytale, surrounded by epic châteaux, lush vineyards, and smooth, scenic riding. The stretch of the **La Loire à Vélo** route from Tours to Saumur is straight-up magic 🚴♀️✨. Covering about 80km on mostly flat, perfectly paved trails, this is the royal road for anyone craving Insta-worthy views mixed with French culture and foodie delights. Your first must-stop: **Château de Villandry** (3 Rue Principale, 37510 Villandry; open daily 9am–7pm in summer), just minutes after leaving Tours. Wander through those jaw-dropping Renaissance gardens—they’re so manicured it almost feels illegal to step on the grass! Next up, coast down the trail and, tucked right up against the mysterious Chinon forest, you’ll find **Château d'Ussé** (). With its fairytale turrets and dreamy windows, it’s honestly the castle that inspired *Sleeping Beauty*—major princess vibes guaranteed 💫. And pro tip: don’t sleep on the picnics! Pass on the pricey, touristy sit-down spots and slide into a local village *fromagerie* along the way (there’s one in practically every hamlet, trust). Grab a log of that legendary ash-coated **Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine** goat cheese, add some delicious local charcuterie, and snag a crispy baguette—then find a cozy riverside patch for your own picnic party. With French snacks this good, you’ll never look at convenience store cheese the same way again. The vibe? Absolute main character energy. Your grand finale: the magical town of **Saumur**. The fairytale finishes strong when you roll into town and see **Château de Saumur** () perched high above the Loire like it owns the river. Park your bike, wander to the enchanting old town square, and toast your journey with a frosty glass of **Crémant de Loire** (the local sparkling wine, so fancy yet so chill). Worried about logistics? Don’t be! You can rent bikes right in Tours (check out trip.com for handy options), with flexible drop-off in Saumur—so no need for a return marathon ride. If you’re feeling extra, hop a ride on the *Interloire* regional train (yes, they’ve got special carriages made for cyclists, so cool). Super easy to zip back to Tours or even keep adventuring. TL;DR: Cycling from Tours to Saumur along the Loire Valley isn’t just a ride, it’s a storybook adventure you’ll never forget. Clip in, pack those snack essentials, and get ready for pure French fairytale vibes 🚲✨🥐

#footballfanculture Watching the World Cup in Cahors means doing it under the shadow of the Valentré Bridge, a medieval masterpiece. My night was spent on the Quai Cavaignac, right by the Lot River. I found a wine bar on Rue Nationale that specialized in the region’s king: Malbec. The fan culture here is rugged and proud. The locals are used to the steep hills and the strong wine, and their cheers reflect that resilience. We toasted every goal with a deep, dark glass of Cahors, the wine so thick it stained the teeth. The conversation was earthy and direct, much like the terroir of the vines. It felt like a secret gathering of true believers in a fortified city. The Plan: Start with a walk on the Valentré Bridge at sunset. Head to Rue Nationale for a wine-focused bar. Order a cheese plate with your Malbec. After the game, walk along the riverbank. The atmosphere is intimate, powerful, and authentically southwestern.

#footballfanculture Tours is the gateway to the châteaux of the Loire, but its football fan culture is far from royal. It’s youthful, energetic, and centered around the magnificent Place Plumereau. My World Cup night was spent on the terrace of one of the half-timbered houses that line this iconic square. The crowd was a mix of Erasmus students and local Tourangeaux. The vibe is laid-back but passionate. Tours is known for its beer scene, so I skipped the wine and opted for a local craft brew from La Binoche or a similar microbrewery. The screens are set up on the balconies of the old houses, creating a multi-level viewing experience. The fans here are witty and sarcastic, much like the local dialect. They celebrate a goal with a chorus of "Allez les Bleus!" followed by a sip of their beer and a return to their philosophical debates. The Plan: Place Plumereau is the only place to be. Get there early to secure a terrace spot with a clear view of the screen. Tram: Jean Jaurès. The atmosphere is festive and student-driven. After the match, explore the narrow streets of the old town or walk down to the Vieux Tours cathedral. It’s a perfect blend of historical beauty and modern football passion.
dodo092Easily a grand day out in this highly curated Chateau. Magnificent presentation floral bouquets by in-house Florist/Receptionist Marie-Lise, to carefully selected paintings and objects of interests, furnishings and beautiful manicured gardens.
Elsa_LeeA thousand-year-old church with a very magnificent front building. The entire structure is huge, and the tall vertical tower looks very good. The building itself is also quite interesting, and the art inside is very valuable.
小思文The five-hectare Jardin Botanique de Tours was founded in 1843 with public donations and is the oldest park in the city.
_We***76A stunning château with unique architecture over the river. Beautiful gardens, rich history, and very well maintained. A must-visit in France.
Chat TangThis is also a relatively private garden. There are many flowers and plants planted in the whole garden. You can also see a lot of items here. The garden is also beautifully built, and you can easily see many buildings.
