Palich Lake Two-Day Trip Guide: Art Nouveau Architecture, Lakeside Nature and Wine Tasting Experience Located in northern Serbia, just a few minutes’ drive from Subotica, Lake Palic is a famous local leisure resort. The lakeside scenery is beautiful, surrounded by Art Nouveau architecture, and the environment is fresh and suitable for slow life relaxation and feeling the local characteristics. For a deep exploration of northern Serbia culture and nature, Palic Lake is definitely worth a visit. Route recommendation: Subotica > Lake Palic > Novi Sad > Sremsky Karlovci The first day It is recommended to start from Subotica and visit the city of Subotica full of Art Nouveau buildings (such as the city hall and synagogue) to feel the strong Eastern European design atmosphere. Then proceed to Palic Lake for a walk and enjoy the lake view. You can rent a bicycle or walk around the lake, along the way you will see several Art Nouveau-style buildings, such as the lakeside water tower, concert hall, etc., some of the buildings are more than a hundred years old, very characteristic to take pictures. Lakeside recreation In addition to its natural landscape, Palic Lake also has a zoo and small amusement park. In the summer, you can arrange a lakeside picnic or enjoy Serbian desserts and coffee at the open-air Cafe. The lake also offers fishing and boating activities for families or friends. We celebrated a birthday with a small family gathering at Paligo Palata at Palic lake near Subotica (Serbia). It turned out to be a wonderful choice. At first, the restaurant wasn’t fully visible from the road, which made us a bit hesitant, but as we approached, its charm immediately drew us in. The décor was creative, the waiter exceptionally pleasant and efficient, and the food simply outstanding. The outdoor space was beautiful, the music added a magical touch, and there was even a dedicated play area for children. Paligo truly exceeded our expectations — highly recommended!
