Ayub P: Location is top! Easily accessible attractions like Mysore Palace, Devraj Market, Urs road, zoo etc. Hotel manager and reception staffs were quite co-operative to resolve the queries. Breakfast arrangements were quite well and food was really nice. Infinit restaurant offers good option to dine in with 15% discount for checked in customers. Just one thing which i didnt like is laundry charges. It was comparatively very high. Over in all recommended hotel for family with kids.

Guest User: Me, my wife and kid stayed in this hotel for 2 days. And it was an excellent stay. The rooms are spacious, neat and come ls with all basic facilities including electric kettle to make hot water, coffee, tea and milk powder. Also this hotel has a rooftop restaurant which has a beautiful ambience with a swimming pool view from the side. Very different experience. Food is tasty and their service is humble and excellent. The hotel management, house keeping and the restaurant altogether deserve more than a 5 star as they work hard to make the guest stay peaceful and memorable. If you are looking for a stay for family and kids then this is the place.

The palace as we see it today was built in the early 20th century after the original palace was destroyed by fire. It was designed by the British architect Henry Irwin in an Indo-Saracenic style, blending elements of Indian, Hindu, Muslim, Rajput, and Gothic architecture. The result is a palace that stands out distinctly from other important sites in India. The exterior features large domes, arches, balconies, and incredibly intricate decorations, while the interior is even more opulent. 🏛️ A particularly striking feature is the Durbar Hall, or royal audience hall. This space was once used for royal ceremonies and official meetings. Inside, it's filled with colorful columns and arches, intricate decorations, ornate ceilings, and massive chandeliers, giving a sense of the grandeur of the Mysore royal court just by stepping inside. After leaving Srirangapatna, we drove to Mysore’s iconic Chamundi Hill to visit the renowned Chamundeshwari Temple. 🏛️ About Chamundi Hill & Chamundeshwari Temple: Goddess Chamundeshwari: The patron deity of Mysore and an incarnation of Parvati, the wife of Lord Shiva (specifically the wrathful form of the warrior goddess Durga). Legend says she defeated the buffalo demon Mahishasura on this hill, protecting the land. 1,000 Steps & the Giant Nandi Bull: Standing at about 1,000 meters above sea level, pilgrims historically climbed 1,000 stone steps to reach the top. Near the 700th step stands a giant Nandi—Lord Shiva’s loyal mount—carved from a single block of black granite. It is not only massive but also adorned with intricate carvings of garlands and bells. We were stunned by the massive crowds when we reached the summit! We found out it was a special festival honoring Parvati, Shiva's wife, and devotees had flocked from all directions to seek blessings. Our local guide suggested the Darshan VIP/Fast-track Lane. Taking advantage of the weekend, I planned a day trip to Mysore (Mysuru), located about 150 km from Bangalore! This city is not only famous for its opulent palaces but is also a major historical and religious center in South India. 🏛️ A Quick History Lesson on Srirangapatna and Mysore: Srirangapatna: Situated on an island in the Kaveri River near Mysore, it served as the capital of the Mysore Kingdom in the 18th century and was a key fortress in the fight against British colonial expansion. "The Tiger of Mysore" Tipu Sultan: The 18th-century ruler of Mysore, celebrated for his bravery and for introducing early military rocket technology against the British. He died heroically in 1799 while defending the Srirangapatna fort during the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War. Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple: One of South India's most prestigious Hindu pilgrimage sites dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It features the classic Dravidian-style towering gateway (Gopuram) and houses an image of Vishnu in a reclining posture (Ranganatha). Leaving Bangalore, I dealt with the usual Indian traffic—lots of stopping and starting—taking a full 3 hours to reach the destination. However, the scenery and rich historical sites along the way were more than enough to make up for the long drive! 📸 Memories from the Day: Pic 2 | A Roadside Chai Break ☕ After 3 grueling hours in traffic, a hot cup of fragrant Masala Chai from a roadside stall was exactly what I needed to recharge! Pic 3-4 | Tipu Sultan’s Final Stand ⚔️ Visited the memorial marker where Tipu Sultan fell (Tipu's Death Place). The stone is inscribed with: "The Body of Tippu Sultan Was Found Here." This marks the exact spot of his death, not his burial site (his true final resting place, the Gumbaz, is located a few kilometers away in the royal cemetery). Pic 5-6 | Ranganathaswamy Temple 🛕 A sacred temple standing tall within the ancient city! Looking up close at the Gopuram, the intricate carvings of deities and mythological figures are absolutely breathtaking in their detail. Given the time constraints and the sheer number of people, I opted to simply soak in the sacred atmosphere from the outside.
