Fairy Tale-like Scandinavia: Sweden - Tjörn Island
Fork in the Road
Took a ferry out to Marstrand Island during my trip to Gothenburg.
It’s a very quiet place, mostly granite rock formations worn smooth by the ice and sea. Quite a contrast to the humid, green trails we have back in Singapore.
The hike itself is straightforward. There are wooden boardwalks and stairs along the way, taking about three to four hours to complete the loop. No heavy-duty gear is needed—my basic trail running shoes were more than enough.
Along the path, there are some nice views of the sea, quiet coves with red wooden cottages, and some old stone ruins. It was a peaceful walk. If you are in Gothenburg and want a quiet afternoon away from the city, this island is worth a visit.
