Church of Our Lady

Notre Dame de Dijon is the largest church here. It has a history of more than 600 years and is definitely the center of the church here. The Notre Dame is very large and its decoration is simple and elegant. It contains the tombs of many French celebrities. It is definitely one of the most worthwhile churches to visit.

The center of Dijon is the old town, and the center of the old town is the Duke of Burgundy's palace. The square in front of the palace is now called Liberty Square. There are some restaurants on the square, and it is very comfortable to sit down and have a cup of coffee or a meal.

The first permanent collection of the Dijon Museum of Fine Arts comes from the Dijon School of Painting. In 1775, the school established its own "Rome Scholarship". Every year, the school selects a student from the painting class and a student from the sculpture class to study in the Eternal City, Rome. In return, the students must provide the school with a copy of a painting or sculpture by a master before the end of four years of study. For this purpose, the east wing of the Ducal Palace was added in the 1780s to house these works from Italy and other places. In this neoclassical exhibition hall, the "Statue Hall", there are copies such as "Borghese Gladiators", "Apollo of Belvedere", and "Venus of Medici". Looking up, it is the ceiling painting of Pierre Paul Prud’hon, a scholar of the "Rome Scholarship" in 1784. At that time, the Burgundy Parliament was ambitious to copy the "Triumph of Divine Providence" in the Barberini Palace in Rome. Although Prudong was not impressed by the author of the painting, Pietro da Cortona, he had no choice but to paint the painting according to the original, replacing the emblem of Pope Urban VIII with the emblem and allegory of Prince Conde, the ruler of Burgundy at the time.

The Owl of Dijon

The Little Owl of Dijon is a famous sculpture on the north side of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Dijon, France. It has become the mascot of Dijon. Legend has it that if you touch it with your left hand and put your right hand on your left chest to make a wish, your wish will come true. The statue has been rubbed by many tourists and has become blurred. In addition, there are road signs with eagle patterns on the ground of Dijon Street. It runs through many streets in the old city of Dijon and is a special travel route marked by owls. Visitors can walk along the brass owl signs on the ground and visit 22 classic attractions in Dijon on foot.

Domaine de La Romanee-Conti

Even if you step out of the wine circle, Domaine de la Romanee-Conti (DRC) is still a very important name. Sky-high prices, frequent visitors to famous wine auctions, the ultimate display of Burgundy terroir, and something that can only be described but not touched, this is probably the impression DRC leaves in most people's minds. For an ordinary wine lover, the road to pursuing the world's precious wines may have no end, but DRC must be one of the milestones closest to the end. So you must come to this world-famous winery to take a look~

The Dijon Museum of Fine Arts houses many fine works of art, including three 14th-century gilded Gothic altars with incomparable richness and decoration and two tombs of the Duke of Valois from the late Middle Ages. A very quiet and peaceful place.

A very relaxing square, the square was transformed from a residential area. The decoration of the square was done by a famous sculptor born in Dijon. The square is surrounded by cafes and restaurants, which is very relaxing.
