Church of Our Lady

Notre Dame de Dijon is the largest church here. It has a history of more than 600 years and is definitely the center of the church here. The first permanent collection of the Dijon Museum of Fine Arts comes from the Dijon School of Painting. In 1775, the school established its own "Rome Scholarship". Although Prudong was not impressed by the author of the painting, Pietro da Cortona, he had no choice but to paint the painting according to the original, replacing the emblem of Pope Urban VIII with the emblem and allegory of Prince Conde, the ruler of Burgundy at the time.


