Upali Thein

Niangwu came out of the rectangular temple on the right hand side. She suggested renting eBike or bicycle. She was free to stop and follow. The location was opposite the Sirolomingde temple, not a small temple. It was marked on the simple map provided by the hotel.

This slender rectangular auditorium is named after Upali, a famous monk in the thirteenth century. It can be seen from the crack in the door that there are beautiful murals on the wall and ceiling. Unfortunately, on the day of my visit, the door was closed!:_________（

The appearance of one of the famous temples in Pugan area has no bright spot, but the temple has the most beautiful murals in many of the temples in Pugan. After so many years, the color still exists, which has to be amazing.

Upali Monastery was built in the 13th century. There is a small spire in the middle of the rectangular structure. The spire has complex decorations inside. Similar buildings of the same era were made of wood and decayed in the waves of history. The pagoda is famous for its exquisite murals, which were redrawn during the Gongbang Dynasty in the 17th and 18th centuries and are still very colorful. The murals depict the images of 28 Buddhas, as well as the stories of Buddha Bensheng. Photographs are not allowed inside the temple.
