It is an observatory located just past the village of Akajima. The view is also good here, overlooking the Sakubar strange rocks, Aka Ohashi Bridge, and Keiruma Island. Along the way, we will climb a steep climb that cannot be done by bicycle. In addition, many cypress crab inhabited. You may be surprised if you are not used to it, but it is designated as a national natural monument.

It is an observatory in the southwestern part of Aka Island. It is close to the center of Aka Island and is relatively easy to access. From the observatory, you can see Aka Ohashi Bridge, Keiruma Island, and Sakubar strange rocks.

You can walk to the observatory in about 10 minutes from below. When I entered the forest a little, I was a little surprised that the palm crab walked. The view of the observatory is very beautiful.

Since it faces the west, you can see the sunset sinking into the sea. The parking lot is actually at the end of climbing a steep slope. The observatory is in front of the parking lot and turn left and follow the path.

Observatory on the outskirts of the village

I went to April 2018. I also stopped by this observatory when I rented a bicycle around the island. It is within walking distance because it is located on the outskirts of the Aka village where the harbor is located. You can see the very beautiful sea from the observatory. If you are sightseeing only around the Aka village, this is a recommended place.
