The stairs are tight.

Is it about 20 minutes from Tateishi Port? After walking on a narrow road full of weeds, climb a rough slope. It's a staircase, but it's hard to walk. The lighthouse was beautiful, but the view was weeds and I didn't like it. The scenery may be good in winter with few weeds. Let's come again.
You can park your car in a vacant lot of fishing port at the end of Prefectural Road 141. There is a signboard 500 meters to Cape Tateishi, so you can easily see it. At first, under the graveyard, if you walk about 100 meters along the narrow road along the coastline, you will find a climbing gate, and you will reach it by climbing there in about 15 minutes with an altitude difference of 100 meters. A small cute white lighthouse stands quietly. The grass was overgrown and I couldn't see much scenery.
Lighthouse that took over the visa of Chihiko Sugihara's life

Many of the refugees who received the visa of life from Chiune Sugihara crossed from Vladivostok to Tsuruga Port by boat. The Cape Tateishi Lighthouse was built in 1881 as a light that illuminates Tsuruga Port, a key point of Japan Sea transportation. Japan, which had been able to strengthen the policy of the strong military in the rich country, will go on the road of war, but this lighthouse probably watched over the safety of many Jews who were damaged by the war.
You can reach it by parking your car at the fishing port and walking on a steep slope. When I visited, the door was open and I could see inside. The cute round-roofed lighthouse is impressive.
The Tateishi fishing port is about 40 by car from the center of Tsuruga city. From there, walk 20 about, and walk down the stairs in the mountains from the middle. I couldn't enter the lighthouse, but I was able to see it every time 180 without disturbing the beautiful Sea of Japan. On the way, I was quite worried when I saw the signboard saying "be careful of bears and wild boars". You may want to bring a cowbell or bell for bear shelter. The slope of the mountain is steep.
