There's beauty all over in Japan, especially spring! But Watch out for pollen, there's a lot of it! People kayak and canoe here & fun to picnic too. Don't miss walking on the dam there.
On April 1, 2023, it was a beautiful time for the cherry blossom snowstorm. The parking lot was crowded everywhere, but the water gate parking lot on the Joso Bridge side was relatively smooth. There was a charge (500 yen) only on the day of the cherry blossom festival.
I went to see the cherry blossoms this year on March 23rd. On weekday afternoons, there were few people and I was able to take a leisurely stroll. Usually, the river where canoeing floats had a different appearance of water dried up. The river surface where the petals floated at the time of scattering was also spectacular, but it's a shame! Due to the influence of last year's typhoon, the old trees were also lined with trees that were a little rejuvenated due to generational changes.
Every year, there are some visitors even on weekdays, but it was quiet because it was evening because it was refraining from cherry blossom viewing. Due to the influence of last year's typhoon, the bank collapsed and the construction was underway, and the fallen old trees were replanted, and the rows of cherry blossom trees were seen in some parts. According to a friend, the area around the Fukuoka weir remains natural, so it is sometimes used as a location for historical dramas.
I have been going to see cherry blossoms every year for the past few years. This year, I went from the parking lot in the back to the place where the Kokai River was blocked. On the way, the wind blew and the snowstorm swung, and there was a different beauty. When I asked someone who was reaching out to the dancing petals, he said, "If you receive the petals, make a wish, take them home and save them carefully until the next year, your wish will come true." I tried it, but I couldn't grasp the petals. Repair and renovation of the waterway 370 years ago, and still profit ...

It is the best hidden place of cherry blossoms.
