Retro awesomeness
The tower is such a period piece, very retro 60s~70s style underwater observatory. It totally looks like something out of an old James Bond movie, like the lair of one of the villains. Don't expect...
Visiting this place (a.k.a. Ashizuri Underwater Observatory 足摺海底館) gave me a sense of surrealness, like time traveling back to my childhood. The tower looks like a structure that would appear on olden...

I've been walking in the sea with geta shoes ~ Today's transparency in the sea is 10m! I'm sucked into the glittering blue world. Personally, the "feeling of disturbing the life of wildlife" was very comfortable! !! !! It is memorable, including the design and location of the building reminiscent of the Ultraman monster. The purpose is different from the nearby aquarium (Ashizuri Ocean Museum SATOUMI)! If you want to enjoy various creatures on land, the aquarium, the ecology as it is ...
It is located on a road full of strange rocks from the parking lot. The facility is old, but the children were very happy to see the fish swimming from the small window down the spiral staircase. One of the seven underwater observatories nationwide established during the Showa period. Even though it has been almost half a century since it was installed, it is well maintained and you can enjoy the underwater view. I enjoyed coral reefs and tropical fish in the southernmost sea of Shikoku. (It seems that the food was sprayed when I reached the submarine observation floor ... A large number of colorful fish flocked to me. Superb view.) After the Heisei era, I think it is worth the experience because there is no such facility.
