🍽️ Dinner at Palace
#weekendgetaways
Stumble upon this nice Chinese restaurant in Genting Highland during our last weekend visit.
We noticed there are plenty of vegetarian option on the menu hence we decided to dine in. The restaurant was located at the Ground floor where it is in front of the famous ice cream - Swensen’s and easily be found!
The food was so tasty that we whooop all the foods in 15minutes time. Strongly recommend to come by!

A beacon of spirituality and cultural heritage🇳🇵🙏

On a weekend excursion with friends, we embarked on a soulful journey to Boudha, enveloped in serenity and rich cultural heritage. As we approached the stupa, its towering presence commanded reverence, surrounded by the bustling energy of devotees and fluttering prayer flags. Circumambulating the colossal mandala, we immersed ourselves in the rhythmic chants and tranquil ambiance, offering prayers and spinning prayer wheels along the way. The intricate details of the stupa's architecture whispered tales of centuries past, while the panoramic view from its apex painted a breathtaking panorama of Kathmandu's sprawling landscape. In moments of reflection, amidst the swirl of incense and resonating chants, we found solace and connection, united in homage to this sacred monument, a beacon of spirituality and cultural heritage.

Love this basement level, no window, William Morris wallpapered cozy bar with great food. I’ve been in Portland a little over one year and finally found nice bar that I feel revisiting many times to come. Too bad I only had a short time , I only had pickle spiced fries, which was very good but next time I will ask to go easy on salt/spice because it was a bit too salty for me. We sat at the bar by the kitchen, this was good spot to see how it’s all done. I wish I had more time and had whole dinner. The menu items looked interesting. The cocktail I had Islay Daiquiri was very good, sweet but not too sweet and smoky note. My husband had Painkiller Cobbler. This was in purple and pretty to look at, and tasted juicy and sweet. They have a great many whiskeys. Next time I will make a solid plan and have proper dinner and try few cocktails.

One of my favorite places in NY. Very good cocktails. The famous garibaldi is a must, but they have many other good ones, including their variety of negronis. Food menu is also interesting. Italian vibe, great atmosphere and top hospitality from all the staff. Reservations are recommended.
They had live music which was great!! The food options were just okay. The service was friendly and attentive!
awesome chill place with view!
If you want to enjoy some view, it’s worth to come! With an amazing view, this venue is one of popular rooftop chill place in the city.
You can order drinks/foods from here. Grab any seats to enjoy the view. But i came here just for the pool and the fantastic sights.

The Dead Rabbit
#weekendgetaways
I had an amazing time visiting The Dead Rabbit. Outstanding hospitality since you arrive. First you enter to a traditional irish pub and then upstairs is their cocktail parlor, both really nice concepts with an interesting menu of cocktails and small bites. They honor their 'Welcome Home' and 'Tradition, Meet Tomorrow' slogans. Will definitely come back.

Tom Bergin's
#weekendgetaways
Old world charm is the best way to describe Bergen’s. I was impressed most of all with the center bar area which was relocated to this location from a previous location on Wilshire Boulevard. I believe in the 30s or 50s they have a background story there that can be read. Anthony Bourdain would call it a old man’s bar. However, the clientele is not all old L O L. I had the Irish cream which was delicious as well as a Casamigos reposado with lime. Our bartender, who is very professional and fun to talk to. Her drinks were amazing. At the moment they have a band until the end of August that plays outside. You would do well for yourself to go check it out !

Double Chicken Please
#weekendgetaways
Double Chicken Please has been climbing the ratings chart around the world and it’s no surprise this is one of the top bars in America. Don’t even bother trying to get a reservation on Resy as the bots get them all in seconds, instead I recommend coming at opening and putting your name on the waitlist to visit the back room called the Coop.
Inside the mood is cozy and the design is very modern with soft lighting and upscale decor. They also have a few fun pieces of artwork that pays homage to their “chicken” theme. The staff here as well go above and beyond to make sure your experience is amazing.
Drinks wise you have to try as many cocktails as you can, they are all so different and unique. We order the mango sticky rice, the key lime pie, and the NY beet salad which as you can guess are inspired by different foods. The garnish and detail on each one was phenomenal. The cocktails are on the pricier side but it’s worth it here.

Pacific Cocktail Haven
#weekendgetaways
Awesome cocktail bar with an extensive menu so there is definitely something for everyone here. The drinks are all categorized by the type of main alcohol on the menu and have little illustrations next to them which I thought was a great touch to help you select your perfect drink. Everything is also inspired by Asian pacific ingredients which make the drinks unique and tasty.
This bar is very centrally located in SF near Union Square and has a very clean modern interior with lots of seating areas.
Will be back here to try some of the other cocktails for sure!

Santa Maria Beach
#weekendgetaways
I really loved the beach. It has free bathrooms, showers, drinking water, there is palapa for handicapped and also possible to hide in shade in the rocks on the right end of the beach if you don't bring own umbrella.
At night there is nice lighting from hotel to the bay.
Snorkeling is great-so big variety of fishes and water is crystal clear and pleasant to swim. I saw iguana, squirrel in the rocks.

Cerritos Beach
#weekendgetaways
This beach is definitely worth a visit. Shallow waters make for smaller wave breaks. More swimmable than some of the other beaches that I’ve been to out here, such as Punta Lobos. More people too. I parked near the Mayan Village palapas on the southern end of the beach. Less people on this end, more private. Fun to watch the kids learn how to surf. The food truck was not open when I went. I also didn’t see public bathrooms.

Balmoral Island
#weekendgetaways
I'm really happy with our decision to visit Balmoral Island on our cruise excursion. There were only 2 ships in port that day so we basically had the beach to ourselves. We snorkeled (not sure if they provide that, we brought our own), enjoyed the hammock in the water, and just lounged around all day!
There were additional excursions like dolphin swim, etc that we didn't purchase.
I did reserve a cabana which was in a really pretty location up by the pool but it was a waste of money, we didn't use it. I recommend to check how many boats will be in port for the day. If there's more than 2-3 you may want to consider getting a cabana for your own space.
They didn't really have an extensive menu for food...burgers was about it. We didn't eat, but I did have one drink that wasn't great.
Our cabana was by the pool, but I never saw anyone in the pool. The ocean was more than perfect for us! There were some innertubes available but if it were a busy day those would have been gone quickly, I'm sure.

Montagu Beach
#weekendgetaways
This is a really nice spot to view the water, and even bath for some. With three semi-circular enclaves of mini beaches encapsulated with turquoise water, it's quite beautiful. It's my favourite beach to bring some food and enjoy the view, but maybe not as private as you might prefer. With that said, the views are spectacular (and incluses nearby buildings and a fish market).

One of the best beach in Nassau we have found by luck a long time ago before Google Map.
The water is generally calm as it is in a cove. The sand is fine and generally clean. Best time to visit is during the weekday, you may even have the whole beach to yourself. You will definitely need a car to get here though..................................

Love Beach
#weekendgetaways
Very nice beach with paid access (downside) to the beach through a restaurant. The $5 includes parking, access and WiFi but loungers and umbrellas are extra if you decide to rent.
Beach is nice and relatively clean. The ocean is much calmer than elsewhere as there is a reef further out to the sea. No undercurrents and the waves are pleasant.
There is some shade to the left of the restaurant.

Cable Beach
#weekendgetaways
This is one of the smaller beaches. We got there in the morning and it was not crowded. We got there when most of the vendors were setting up their equipment so we didn't approached by anyone. There is a liquor store across the street, along with a few restaurants.
The water is beautiful and no trash.
I enjoyed this beach, and you would too!!!!!!

SO pretty! We asked about the rentals and it was $15/chair and $20 for an umbrella. Bit pricey for us but probably well worth it if you spend the whole day. Our taxi dropped us off by the paradise restaurant/resort or something entrance. It wasn’t crowded at all! The vendors selling water sports/braids don’t harass you at all and are very friendly!

The Baxter Inn
#weekendgetaways
Amazing whisky bar, very hidden down an alley way then down an unassuming stair case. Staff were extremely attentive, they offered a very good range of whisky’s, and cocktails for those looking for other drinks. There is a book which has a full list of what’s in stock, not just the big board behind the bar. Worth a visit if you’re a whisky enthusiast. We went mid range with our selection with the drinks being in the $40 - $60 each, a good way to test bottles that are in the $350+ category or bottles that are limited/hard to find.

Nestled in the serene uptown of New York City, the MET Cloisters beckoned us with promises of medieval marvels. Amidst the city's hustle, the Cloisters provided a sanctuary of tranquility, where time seemed to slow, and history whispered its secrets to eager ears.
