Discovering an excellent sake in the heart of Japan!
Nishiyama Shuzo is an historical brewery located in Tamba, 5 minute walk from the station of Tamba Takeda in Hyogo Prefecture. Here I could find out how the company make sake thanks to a private tour...
You can buy sake on Nishiyama Sake Brewery Road at a nearby roadside station, but when you come to the shop attached to the brewery, you can buy original sake stamp books, tote bags, etc. on Nishiyama Sake Brewery Road. Events are held on weekends, so I got a face mask and a slice by lottery. The parking lot is across the road, but I think I could only park about 4.
You can observe the process and products of sake making throughout the year. You can also sample it, and it is a place where you can have fun for those who like alcohol.
After eating soba at soba, I heard that "Yamana / Nishiyama Sake Brewery is close" and stopped by Yamana Sake Brewery and this Nishiyama Sake Brewery. I don't see much Hontanba of Yamana, but I often hear Nishiyama Sake Brewery's "Kodrum" Isho bottle and get it quite a bit. There were many types and there were also wine. I bought Ginjo's raw 300ml. The building is nice. Sometimes it is just a tangible cultural property. The eaves are worth a look. It has a wonderful appearance.
