San Diego-Colorado Bridge San Diego-Colorado Bridge (San Diego-Coronado Bridge) is a sea-crossing bridge in the United States. The bridge is located on the west coast of the United States, and the southern end of California is close to the Mexican border. The bridge crosses San Diego Bay, connecting the city of San Diego and Colorado Island, and is 1 mile long. Route 75 passes the bridge, and intersects Interstate 5 in San Diego. The 200 feet clear in the middle of the bridge is enough for the tallest ship to pass. The bridge, which cost $50 million, started construction in February 1967 and opened on August 3, 1969, quickly became a local landmark. For its unique bridge tower and beautiful curves, it was awarded the Merit Award by the American Steel Institute in 1970.

[View] We didn't live near the main river basin, so one of my favorite activities in Chattanooga was to walk to the Walnut Street bridge before dawn and watch the sunrise. Sometimes I was lucky because the sunrise view was spectacular, but sometimes it was very boring. [Fun] Waterbirds often bask in the sun in the river, when you can take pictures of it. [Cost-effective] It is a wonderful experience to stand on the bridge and watch the sunrise and watch the waterbirds bathed in the sun.

Try to walk over this bridge as you will get a better feel for it. Lots of history in the construction. A beautiful view along the bridge, with the park coming into view and the freeway below. A great piece of work. Very cool to check out.

From a technical point of view, this is a fascinating bridge. The stainless steel cable hardware and attachments are worth a look if those types of industrial applications interest you. Decent views, probably best at night. We were not familiar with the downtown are, so ended up in a parkade right in the expensive area....ouch. I think you can park at each end of the bridge, on end terminates at the hotel, the other into a large parking lot, which I am assuming is a cheaper place to park??

As you walk across the bridge, look around and feel the beauty and vitality of the Chicago River. You can also see amazing buildings there Wrigley Tower, Tribune Tower and Trump Tower not far away. You can realize why this is called the Bridge of Strong America!! The bridge is an important part of Michigan Avenue, named DuSable Bridge in 2010, and in terms of the bridge, it is also special and can carry a large number of people and vehicles through. You can also see beautiful scenery from above, connecting bridges on the north and south sides of different streets on the river. I love it here!

I am including a photo map of the Seven Bridge Walk which starts in Balboa Park and loops around thru Hillcrest for 5.5 miles. It is such an interesting walk and I went with a Y group and our leader had the write-up of the history of each bridge. The Spruce Street Footbridge is indeed a swaying one. Best to just google it and get all the info if you want to do the whole walk. It makes for a good activity for a group or I will definitely do it again with a friend or even solo.
