LoganDThe audio guide is pretty good—filled with a ton of interesting history. The grounds and the ruins of the abbey are beautiful. It’s kind of expensive considering it’s mostly just an audio guide of a building tax payers pay for, but the guides are helpful and I’d say it’s probably worth the money. Castle of Edinburgh is the far superior site, so definitely don’t go here instead, but if you have extra time in the city, it’s worthwhile. From one side you can see the Edinburgh castle and the Balmoral hotel, then if you keep turning on the left you can admire Arthur Seat in all of its glory. And you can spot the sea behind it.If you keep turning you can see up to Leith, the shore and then the all Firth of Forth.On sunny days you can see the isle of Inchkeith.And you can even spot the other side of the Forth Bridges.I would definitely suggest to come during the day and a second time to watch the sun set behind the castle.If you come on the 30 of April (with a ticket) you can witness the Beltane Fire Festival.
