Private residence in the Taisho Period in Nishiwaki

    Original Text

A house of nationally registered tangible cultural properties in Nishiwaki City. A private residence of Umeyoshi Kuizumi built in the Taisho era. It is a venerable house where Sekiyuki Hashimoto and Takeshi Inukai also stayed. The pillars and fittings are also wonderful, and there are many attractions. Admission is free and the parking lot is in front of the building.

    Old wooden.

    Original Text

Due to my foolish residence, I stayed in Nishiwaki City and saw this nearby building. The surrounding buildings also have many wooden buildings from good old times, and I felt like I had slipped back in time.

    A mansion with a technician

    Original Text

It was a wonderful building. You can see the great skills of craftsmen and carpenters everywhere, while on the other hand, there are modern aspects such as using colorful Italian tiles for the bath. In addition to being able to tour for free, some of the rooms were used as galleries, and a solo exhibition of watercolors was just held. It was said that tea parties for children were also held, and it seemed that they were also used by citizens.

The old house was a private residence of umeyoshi kizumi, who flourished in the Taisho Period, and used high-class wood everywhere, and the wonderful crafting technique was seen in the column. In addition, he actively incorporates Western flavors such as the marble wash basin from Italy and the hot springs using modern tiles that were rare at that time. He is a Japanese painter, Sekiyuki Hashimoto, Bunjin ...
