The Nice Opera House is the main opera performance venue in Nice. It is located on the south side of the old city of Nice. The Nice Municipal Theatre opened in 1885 and its premiere was Verdi's "Aida". In 1902, it was changed to the Nice Opera House. In 1992, it was listed as a National Historic Monument by the French Ministry of Culture. The building is magnificent, and the interior of the theater is classical and luxurious. There are Italian opera performances every day, and the ticket price is very friendly. The entrance of the opera house is adjacent to the American embankment (quaidesetats-unis), the south façade is located on the American Corniche Road, and the north gate is located in St. rue Saint-François-de-Paule.
