Pretty but closed
The place is beautiful and relatively easy to find to be in the middle of nowhere, however, the overlook and restrooms for the picnic area are closed. Not sure why the signs directing you to the dam d...
Bigger than a beaver's dam
The visitor area facility was "closed until further notice". As such, we were the only ones there when we visited the dam area. The parking area and picnic area were open, but with no one else there...
Duplicate attraction
This is a duplicate attraction name for Smith Mountain Dam. And there is yet another duplicate listing. Just don't follow your GPS if it does not take you on the paved road.

If in the Smith Mnt Lake area - check this dam and museum out. It's the perfect attraction for a rainy or ugly day at the Lake. Beautiful and very int to learn how the lake was created in the 60's. ...
