Not a must-see
This small buddhist temple is opposite of the Grand Hi-Lai hotel. Besides a huge golden buddha in the main hall there is not much else to see other than some older photographs on the walls. In Novembe...
A magnificent Buddhist hall with a unique appearance
Original Text
I visited this place during my stay in Kaohsiung. The Buddhist temple adjacent to the Hanjin department store near Kaohsiung Port was eye-catching with its new, unique and magnificent appearance. It was interesting because it was different from the image of a Buddhist temple that Japanese people have.
There was the front entrance of "Hanjin Department Store", and the "Buguangshan Kaohsiung Buddhist Church" diagonally across the road. I often see Taoist temples with gorgeous designs in Taiwan, but it was the first time I saw such a magnificent Buddhist temple in Taiwan. I couldn't enter the building because I was timid, but I could see beautiful Buddha statues shining from the outside. By the way, it was the Rinzai sect.
2019 Year 5 Visited in the month. The nearest station is about 15 minutes walk from Kaohsiung MRT Central Park Station. It is a Buddhist temple diagonally opposite the Hanlai Hotel across the success road.
