Before seeing the real mural paintings in the genshi of the decorated tumulus Kitra tumulus, I went to see the Kitra tumulus. If you go south from the Shijin no Yakata where the mural paintings are stored, there was a two-stage circular burial mound. Like the Takamatsuzuka Kofun, which is the same Asuka decorative burial mound, it was not a huge burial mound, but I was able to recognize the shape firmly.
I applied for the 27th Opening キトラ Kofun Mural / West Wall White Tiger held on May 20, 2023 ~ June 18, 2023.

Stop your car in the free parking lot in the light rain and go on a tour. First of all, I am surprised to find that a hill with just a tree 々 is an old burial mound. A guide is also carried out in the 2 building free museum adjacent to the tumulus.

In the center of the burial mound is a stone chamber made of 18 tuff cut stones.
