It is a two-tiered circular burial mound, which is believed to have been built around the end of the 7th century ～ early 8th century. It is unknown who's grave. In the center of the burial mound is a stone chamber made of 18 tuff cut stones. In a survey in 1983, a colorful mural painting drawn in a stone chamber was discovered, and it was confirmed that it was the second mural painting tumulus in Japan after Takamatsuzuka tumulus.
